Spike, take stijoy's words of warning seriously about the polisher, I have one and like you thought great tool, until I looked at the rubbers around the windows and I had burnt them and try polishing them out, a right job mate. The polisher went flying into the corner of the garage. It did come in handy though, when I had to plane and sand the bathroom floor down to fit the new shower tray that we bought. Mick C.

I always use a couple of old hand towels to dry off the car, they work a treat never get any water marks, and always use a wash mitt to wash the car instead of a sponge as sponges can hold grit and scratch the paintwork.

and when the car starts going grey you know you have f*cked up
why grey? polish by hand, apply wax by hand!!! polish up wax by polisher thingy???
always polish up by hand and in the direction of the panel (linear movement) ! It's probably the hard water leaving the marks. You might want to use a hose end that has a filter to take all the cr@p out of the water. I use a thing called Flash car wash. Works quite well. http://www.freshliving.com/flashcarwash/home.htm
