Understeer, anti roll bars, camber etcHiya,
I would like to get rid of some of the understeer of the WR1. The biggest place that I find it understeering is when i go around a corner and gradually accelerate from the corner apex. The car seems to push itself to the outside of the corner quite a lot. I have tried this with the diff fully open but it doesnt seem to resolve the issue. Speaking to some guys this weekend they suggested: anti roll bars anti lift kits drop links coil overs strut braces etc. Can anyone ellaborate on this and tell me exactly what I need to get and how or who can set them up for me? Also any idea why subaru's setup doesnt seem to have much camber on the front wheels compared to other cars? Cheers Martin
Round corner hit go pedal rear squats front lifts .....ouch !
Whiteline f/r arb's and anti lift kit and a good geometry set up will be the cheapest option. Strut braces also the sti one look good, but pricey there are cheaper alternatives. Coilovers, ast are a decent, and reasonable price, exe-tc are imho better but have them so .... either way you won't go wrong 2007 BMW M5

Re: Understeer, anti roll bars, camber etcanti roll bars
22mm adjustable front and rear whiteline arb's will be your best bet for road use. Rear set to hard and front to soft. anti lift kits I wouldnt bother. They are a misnomer and are actually a pro-lift kit. The only useful thing they will do for you is 0.5 castor. A decent geometry set up will do this anyway. drop links Arent the WR1 rear drop links solid anyway? coil overs Best solution for tuning the roll centre/roll axis which will really effect how much understeer you get but it is expensive to buy good stuf. Dont be tempted to take the cheap option as just cos it says coilovers on the tin doesnt mean they all work the same. Exe-tc is what i have and I dont think you can get any better for less than £2k strut braces Dont do a lot when on road, I would bet money you wouldnt even notice the difference. etc. Geometry set up with a good amount of negative camber at the front and good castor angles will help the understeer go. I use: Front. 2.5 deg neg camber 6 deg castor 1mm toe in Rear. 1.5 deg neg camber zero toe It seems to work for me. Duncan : www.racedynamix.com

Good advice from Duncan.
Anti lift kits and strut braces have minimal effect. Just a rear ARB and a pro geometry set up are the best VFM, even with the standard shocks. If JP is Roland Rat, them I am Errol the Hamster... His number 1 fan.
Great advice there thanks guys, any recommendations over who would be best to go for to get this work done?
Im based in Leeds so anywhere near there would be great although if it means driving to scooby clinic or rcm etc i will do if thats the best option to get a good installation and a good geometry setup.
Scoobyclinic? Don't go near em. A lot of people really rate them but i have worked on a few cars myself that they had done conversions or rebuilds on and the standard of their work is awful.
RCM do a good geometry set up (Ask Bro, and i can also recommend), Also powerstation Nr tewkesbury have a great reputation on these sort of things. Dynamix will have far more experience of these kinds of things than me so i would carefully consider his advice.. Its a piece of pi$$ to fit your own ARB. Scary mary setup combined with the RCM400 turbo and the like.
RCM did a great set-up for sure. Tyre wear seems pretty even so far. I'd use them again for sure.
Okay mate, two local garages get a lot of kit from scooby clinic and recommended them but if their work is poor im not interested. Just going to multimap powerstation to see how far that is compared to leicester.
Its about 60 miles further If JP is Roland Rat, them I am Errol the Hamster... His number 1 fan.
Leicester must be easier... straight down the M1.
I appologise for my inaccuracy of 2 miles If JP is Roland Rat, them I am Errol the Hamster... His number 1 fan.

I don't know Mega well enough for that...I'm a shy boy deep down. If JP is Roland Rat, them I am Errol the Hamster... His number 1 fan.
How much is a geo setup at RCM? I might pop in there for one while im in the area at the end of month if they can fit me in
Hey wait your turn Dan... Just because youve a 500bhp forged, quad turbo charged, supercharged, nos powered, AC inducted monster of an STI... doesnt mean to say you can juump the queue at RCM
