Just got my new discs (perforated Brembo) for the rear and pads (Ferodo 2500).
Should go on in two days.
What's the best way to bed these in ?

FOA MM: bedding in brakepadsJust got my new discs (perforated Brembo) for the rear and pads (Ferodo 2500).

Re: FOA MM: bedding in brakepads
Basically just take your time for a hundred miles or so. Try not (may be difficult for you?) to get to much heat into them and glaze them up before they are making full contact. It's far more difficult to f*ck them up than it is to bed them in sucessfully to be honest. If you do glaze them up just get a bit of coarse wet and dry on the pads. Why would I put too much heat in my brakes ?
Thanks for the advice. The discs look pretty 'weird' also at the moment (slippery and goldcoloured shine). Normal ?
yep, probably have a proprietry zinc coating on.

Doesn't that go at the first dab on the brakes ? Why are they coated ? THANKS.
It's meant to help on initial bed in, but a more accurate reason is they look nice for the prospective punter and they won't be rusty when you get them out the box. Yes, it will go within a few miles. If JP is Roland Rat, them I am Errol the Hamster... His number 1 fan.
