Not a big skyline fan, although the R34 is quite a machine, my old mans mate had a UK spec one, made 353bhp standard (so much for the gentlemans agreement ). Thought about buying it when he had it up for sale a couple of years back but they still command top dollar. But then you get what you pay for I guess.
That R33 is very nice - very nice indeed, but I aways prefered the look of the 32 to the 33, although the 32s are a bit long in the tooth now so I guess the 33 is by far a safer bet. Bayside blue R34 Uk spec, black leather, totally standard if it were my choice. But thats just me fella.
Im not sure yet. My plan was always to put it back to standard ish to get some of the money back but if i want this im not going to have time.
It will mean me loosing out and i have a smaller market to sell it to as it stands. 14/15K is probably its lot as it stands. I want this car, its as nice in the flesh as in the pics. very dated now i admit but they still have a prescence on the road like nothing else IMHO
I agree a bayside blue R34 would be my favourite.
If i bought a standard one i would only end up spending silly money on tuning it. This has all the right bits and i know its history. If you think getting big power out of an Evo or Scoob is expensive then you ought to see what has been spent on this car
If you know the car Mark, i'd say go for it, probably getting a very good deal with all the extras on it - few to many things going on on the dashboard for my liking!
gotta admit I adore bayside blue r34 saw one a few weeks back - stunning. never driven or even been in skyline - what are they like ?
Yeah, ive heard they cost a bob or 2 to modify
I suppose if your after a modded one then go for it fella. All comes down to what you want it for, how long you going to keep it, etc. A Bayside blue R34 will always be in demand. If the 400 really does go this month then its a car i'll certainly consider.
No idea what they are like Dan, havent driven one or been in one myself either
Never played with one on the road, but i was dissapointed in the performance of the ones i came across at brunters, both in the corners and on the straight Who cares when they look like that though! Know what you mean about the gauges, but better being safe then sorry. I would move the Tein EDFC one though as you dont need to look at that regularly. when i had the Tein stuff on my P1 i put it in the glove box.
No, wouldnt have another evo Probably going to have a bit of time out tbh.
Anyway, dont want to hijack markys thread. Have you had a look on PistonHeads fella, some nice R33s and 34s available.
Lovely car, Mark
It's the usual story, isn't it? Work out the budget. Decide what fits. Research for the best one available. Sounds like you've done a lot of thinking around it, so I'd say go for it, but only if re-sale is not your primary goal, matey. Does seem like a shrinking market but you'll always find an enthisiast or two out there When are you going to test-drive it?
Mark - if yer heart's set on it what u waiting for??
...I take it ull be sorted on the Insurance side??...Don't know much bout the Skylines Im afraid except they can be foookin quick...
Love the R33 & 34GTR's
Went for a run in one at brunters with only 400bhp and it was spot on. Power felt the same as the 1 but the grip was huge with it 4 wheel steer Its the only car i would get rid of the 1 for i think. Midnight purple R33GTR or Bayside blue R34GTR The WR1oc still rocks...
Even if i do drive a Smart car!...
Yes, Im keeping my car till next spring. I just dont have the time at the moment to strip the goodies off mine and get a new one how i would like it. If this is still around i will buy it, but there are other options that are attractive. Spec-C, EVO, or even a new Civic type R
