2003 Impreza STi Type-UK - The Swede (i)OK, I'll go first.
Standard scoob, bought it unfortunately 4 months before the WR1 was launched Unmodded, bar the engine and interior heater, the mudflaps, the Prodrive springs and a set of studded Nokian Hakkapeliitta 4 tyres that need to keep the thing on the road. Do the Prodrive springs make much differece to the handling in the snow?
Too petty to be a traffic warden...
Yes ! Day and night !
Before, the car was quite understeered and VERY unpredictable. You'd have to force it into tight corners and then hope it wouldn't swing the back out brutally. If that happened, the diffs would always lock too late and you'd find yourself facing a snowwall at Mach 3 with no capability of steering the car anymore (due to 100% locked diffs). The Prodrive springs make the car lean more on the nose and are softer. That gives better grip and MUCH more progressive reactions. Less fun on tarmac, but on ice and snow it's fenomenal ! You can just unsettle the car before the corner, get it a bit sideways and progressively slide to the appex to then power out of the corner in a straight line with all diffs locked. It's just amazing how fast you can get out of corners in pure ice And it's very easy to control. Best 300 quid ever spent !
You'll be fine. As long as you don't meet The Swede coming the other way! Too petty to be a traffic warden...
... sideways ! Always reminds me of coming around a corner at 90mph in Lapland last winter with my parents on board and finding out the garbage collector's lorry was standing still mid corner... It's all good fun, WR1TE-OFF. Especially as you already got the springs and the DCCD.
Well, in that case, how can I 'refuse'
Finland is top of the agenda for '07 Just need a few others to join in?
Yep. Found it There seems to be an unbelievable amount of lakes around there. Seems like it's in the district of Keski-Suomi, and the nearest (smaller) town would be Saynatsaio? But Jyvaskyla seems pretty big with 84,000 folks there, so there must be a bar or two to visit Jyust need the funds to get there
Er... I can only find 70 people from the satellite images within a 7km radius (according to google earth ) BTW, you've been a bit chilly there recently haven't you?...
It is !
But hei, I brought about 200 beers with me when I last drove from Belgium: Orval, Kasteelbier, Duvel, Witkap, Affligem, Hoegaarden,... And there are a few nightclubs in town, amongst which one which is really nice (ratio men to women approx 1-10). Considering on top of that that one Scandinavian 22 year old is likely to look better than miss England...
200 beers.... having experienced your drinking ability I guess they go out of date before you drink them.
Here's an idea for you Swede. Invite Pops over. You pay for his travel and loss of earnings and he will drink your beer for you.
Swede won a competition to win a lifetime supply of beer and that's how much they had to give him
Lifetime supply for the family...
