From the Day i collected the WR1, the Lowdown power was a problem for me.
I was convinced that more power was obtainable at the low end, this would help the WR1 to pull away from the Junctions without Bog Down.
I emailed a few Motorsport companies.
With Graham from TSL phoning me and after a chat i decided to pop down and see them.
So this Tuesday i did just that. After a Chat with TSLs mapping expert - Richard Bulmer.
We decided to take the TSL 333 Sti8 out for a drive.
I was very impressed with the STi8 333 package, with better steering to turn into corners than the WR1 i instantly wanted the steering to be Sorted on the WR1,
Low down power was better as well, with the Sti8 Pulling hard from 3000 RPM and less of a kick at 4000 rpm compared with my WR1.
So after this test drive, i instructed TSL to carry out the Remap.
Its was a tailor made map and Richard spent about 3 hours on the mapping the WR1.
Just after Lunch the WR1 was on the Ramp having Laser Aligned the wheels re aligned.
As Graham correctly diagnosed - They were out slightly.
Now with the wheels aligned and the New map installed i took the car out.
Steering now feels very responsive.
More power from 3000 rpm is now a advantage, with a smoother power band through 4000 RPM and pulling hard till the red line.
All in all i am very pleased i now know that this map on the WR1 cannot be bettered for lowdown torque.
Well Done TSL
Today at Clive Atthowe - Norwich we ran the WR1 on the Rolling Road to check the readings.
You can see from the graph how the extra bit of power is produced at the low rev range.
The dashed readings are the new readings and the Solid lines are the last Rolling Road readings.
You will notice that overall BHP and Torque is no higher.
I originally wanted more low down power, this is what was achieved.
