what BHP with a TMIC ?I was wondering who has the most BHP with a top mount ? I hear that 400 bhp is prob the most you can go. I want to get somewhere near that but without the extra expense of a FMIC. ....
a certain mr.forest has nearer 500bhp and over 500lbs/ft on his road going 2.5lts spec-C.............

That's much more than I expected. Good to know that.
The TMIC is good for high power levels and if you look at the distance the pipework goes its about 3 inches or so. a FMIC means you have the lag of the air having to go all round the additional pipework to the front of the car. FMIC better if stuck in traffic suffering heat soak. Better for a lot of track work.
Iain Litchfield's Type 25's are 415bhp with a TMIC, although with a Cosworth engine. I think his T20's were about 350bhp. I guess you need an output which also gives reliability too. Is 400bhp on a std engine a reliable aim?
Luck of the draw when you mod to that level, I know 5/6 people running 400ish bhp on the standard 2L engine without any issues. I also know several that have had issues including mine so its anyones guess
Had 360 bhp with a stock tmic and turbo car drove like shit due to surge.
Fitted a bigger turbo and a aps tmic got 385bhp, but also fitted fuel lines, fpr, and so on but the drive was so much better. but you will not get 400bhp with standard turbo/2.0ltengine 2007 BMW M5

to clarify its the std vf35 turbo that is the limiting factor..........nothing else
