Tuning no 116

Postby IAN » Fri Apr 29, 2011 5:50 pm

Hi guys i have some pics of my 1

Image

Image

Turbo , injectors , front mount, turbo inlet pipe , pressure reg and parallel fuel rails all fitted .
I just have the fun part of cutting the bumper back on and 3 port breather tank and oil cooler to fit . It does start fine but about 3000 revs when the turbo starts to wind up it dont like it coughs and spluts to much fuel i think im sure DUNCAN can sort that out . and then an engine bay clean to smarten it all up

Blimey, what sort of power are you hoping for?

Will the body fit back on with the pipework like that?

Hi john a friend has the same parts on his sti ,md321t , 850 injectors and the same front mount but he has changed the ecu and he has 420 on v power and 450 on 7%meths but if DUNCAN can get above 400bhp i will be a happy chappie 8)
and yes it will all fit back together and HARVEY even sent me some pics of a wr1 he fitted this intercooler kit to and it even retained the fog lights so all will be good

Did you go the same spec as your mate?

I.e. M321t with 850 injectors?

Be interesting to know what Dunc can squeeze out of this one. Nice DIY project.

Do you know what the duty cycle is on those injectors per chance? 850cc seems a bit high for the 400 mark? Would 650cc jobbies not do the job?

Going the same route on this current engine, as my antilag has buggered my turbo so might as well change up if I am gonna change anyways.

Keep us updated buddy...

Hi CAVEMAN I am no expert but i was advised by DUNCAN to get md321t and modified 850 pinks and i trust DUNCAN ,DUNCAN said he can get 450 bhp out of my car for me  , there is a wr1 on scoobynet not far from me and he is running a md321h and 650 injectors and he claims to have 410+ bhp and his future mods are md321t and 850's  my car is finished i just await the oil cooler pipes they should be with me by end of the week then its DUNCAN time so not long to wait now chap's ,

PRODRIVE FUEL PUMP

Postby IAN » Wed Jun 22, 2011 10:22 pm

Hi there guys a quick update i had me car on the rollers today with DUNCAN great chap :D  and the so called uprated prodrive fuel pump ran out of puff at 397bhp and at 6000rpm  so Duncan gave me a temp rev limiter at 6000rpm to save me pistons from lean mix meltdown 8) but the power graph was on target to hit the 450bhp ish by 7500rpm so all will be good next time when the new pump is fitted :woohoo:
here r some pics guys i now you all like pics

Nice project there Ian. My car made 420 on 650's / TD05 20G / VPower so yours shouldnt have a problem with 450bhp and 850's :)

Ive pulled mine back to 440 as some tuning companies were sucking in deep breaths of air when I suggested running the stock engine at over 450bhp

Thank you Torres the rev range is all a bit short at the moment it makes good boost by 4000 rpm then rev limiter say that's enough by 6000 rpm so not many rpm to play with but all will be good when the new fuel pump I have ordered gets to me and the rev limiter is taken off and 7500 + rpm is back to play with
