Used nitromos to take paint off then it was alot of elbow grease and plenty of wet and dry sand paper..
Took a couple of days.
But I think it was well worth it.

...and you can have the pleasure of watching the brackets corrode, now you've removed their environmental protection!
The Zero Sports 'Cool Radiator' is made of Stainless Steel, the brackets aren't. In fact, you've probable created a 'Battery' at the junction between the two dissimilar metals. So expect to see some Galvanic Corrosion in the near future.
Sold out and bought an EVO......then sold it because it was rubbish!

Scooby lee.
I have only polished the top of bracket due to this so called battery the boffs talk about.
I thought the battery was only created when two metals and water touch(ie tinfoil and a fillin in your mouth hence spit acts as water creatin a battery current.)
I can asure u there is no water gettin anywhere near them brackets and if it does I have added some Everbrite to combat it..

"I have only polished the top of bracket due to this so called battery the boffs talk about." - A good idea ruined by the bolt touching the polished metal! You'll need to install an insulating washer.
"I thought the battery was only created when two metals and water touch(ie tinfoil and a fillin in your mouth hence spit acts as water creatin a battery current.)" - It's two (or more) metals and an electrolyte......such as air (esp. damp air).
"I can asure u there is no water gettin anywhere near them brackets and if it does I have added some Everbrite to combat it." - So your engine bay is water / air tight? I think not!

Only wanted a bit of feed back about them lookin good or not..
Not a physics lesson. But point taken onboard if they corrode it's only 4.50 for a set from scoobyparts..
So not all lost.
Ps do they look good or not. Ha ha..

You will have to try harder than that to reach a score of 2.

Looks good mate.
Galv on s/s will be a very slow electrolysis so corrosion will take a while.
Just put a nylon washer instead of the metal one under the bolt. Check that the bolt doesn't touch both as it goes through the thread too, possibly use some grease to insulate it ?
You could put some thin clear plastic film under the bracket so it doesn't touch?

Wise words, that should slow down the anodic/ cathodic reaction.

Excellent thread.. on the plus side if he makes a battery under there he could use the additional battery to power a set of neons under the car or a knightrider light in the air scoop....
hmmm knightrider light in airscoop now theres an idea...

I think it looks pretty good. What about a coat or two of lacquer on the bracket before it corrodes?

I was too scared to post something along those lines in case one of the nerds burst a blood vessel. On your head be it Steveyk!

I've been educated by this thread. I always thought nerds drove Saabs and Volvos, not Subarus

1. I'm not stupid, my Doctors say I'm 'Special'.
2. The Merc lost X grand in Petrol alone when I drove it out of the showroom!
3. I decided to buy a Merc. whilst eating a curry and drinking lots of beer......so I got a hang-over, liquid poo and a huge dent in my bank balance as a result of one meal!
