When i bought my car off 'Kev 305' he said the car had been mapped to take BP ultimate, having just been on Bob Rawle's website it says one fuel to avoid is BP ultimate, why is that? ive been filling up with it ever since i bought the car.

Optimax was 98, V-power is 99 ron as far as I'm aware.

Yep V-Power is 99 RON, BP has the lowest RON of all the super unleaded fuels as far as I know and less than the 98 RON that Subaru recommend. I used it very occassionally when I had the WR1 and didn't notice any difference, in fact it ran better than when I was forced to fill with Tesco 99 once, don't know whether I got the dreggings at the bottom of their tank but it ran like a big o shit

They will run on BP ultimate but changing fuel to vpower or tesco 99 would be better. You shouldnt need to get it remapped for these but if it has been mapped to the BP fuel it would get better performance if the map tweaked to suit the better fuel.

Hi Mark, Dave Rowe will be doing ours too when the build is done,
use V-power everytime only ever put £5 of bp in to get to the next v-power, although I have been informed morrison's bio-ethonal yes the supermarket at £1 lt is getting better results than V-power by about 30bhp but'll I'll find out again to be sure
