I wouldn't have predicted that outcome!!

Obviously Klaus was switched off....?!?
the M5 only "took off" after about 80... not a lot in it at the end though!! (0.5s?) although I concede that the M5 makes up 1/2s and wins by 1/2s so respect but it was dry and in a straight line!!

.....Poor driving in the M5??....

John,
That M5 was not even in M dynamic launch mode, I can tell you that because when it is, it bounces off a 4500rpm limiter, also the Sti is pretty well tuned, running ALS by the sound of it, with that being the case the M5 mullers a very fast modified car at its own game, which is launching!
And I can tell you something else for free, had that video gone out to 200mph the Sti would be trailing well behind by about quarter of a mile.

Well mate, you could tune it up, this one is 709bhp
and runs 11.6 quarter mile with 125mph terminal.
However this car has done a 10.9 second run.

I'd love to know whether these cars were still standard. Because witha rolling start where the AMG does not have the inertia of the auto-box, I cannot see how he did not keep that M5 in nick.

These were standard car's mate, I got them off one of the forums M5 Board I think it was, You can tell the M5 is standard aswell by how quiet it is, the first tuning step is the Zorst and all aftermarket M5 Zorsts are insanely loud.
