I would have thought you could squeeze a little more. I guess the pads are due to be replaced if they have done 17k. Have the disks been replaced or have they covered 17k miles too?
Are these off your RB320?
For anyone interested, you will not be dissapointed with the APs.

Would front AP's and rear Brembos work? (apart from looking a tad odd perhaps?)
I've seen the AP set on Mega's and they look Massive!!
I had to drive an extra 50m behind him on the Dales dash a couple of weeks ago because if he anchored, I'd have been in the back of him!! (which probably sounds a bit wrong)
How much is a new set of fronts? £1k?

"Up the bum no babies"
Translation "Ooop't'bum no babies"
I'm sure APs are in excess of £1k.
Some people say the rears are a waste of money... WR 1mpostor (aka number 1 moderator) and myself completely diagree. Rears make a huge difference.

Who is the translation for Bro? I'm not from Yorkshire, I'm originally from Liverpool....
The rear AP's look a lot bigger than the rear Brembos. I think having them all round makes braking more balanced?!
Mega - Were your FULL set £1600 (ish)? Or have I got that wrong?

AP Kit is around £1400 + VAT IIRC.
They work very well on the front with brembos on the rear, but I have no doubt that having the rear kit aswell does still make a difference
Why would you ever want to sell them pops?

Used to live in Poulsom Drive off Sterrix Lane until we moved and I went to West Park in St.Helens. Played footy in the Bootle and Litherland league for 7 years.

Mega - Were your FULL set £1600 (ish)? Or have I got that wrong?
Nooo they were just a little bit more than that but dont tell the wife...
£1800 for the front AP kit + about 200ish fitting at KT Green
£1600 for the rear AP kit + about 100ish fitting at KT Green (because they knew how to fit them after my first huge labour bill!)
They are inc vat prices... You might get a deal on buying both together but ya talking around £3k for the front and rear. You can have just the front kit and that will make the most difference. I got the rear as the car feels more balanced with it under heavy braking. Once they bed in though the difference in braking is incredible and well worth the money.
Personally i found the standard wr1 brakes and the RB320 brakes terrible and only good once warmed up. For day to day driving youve normally hit something before theyve got warm unless youve a strong left leg. The RB320 still has standard brakes which is good as it makes my WR1 brakes feel great when i get back into it...

OMG - Adam @ Buxton fitted all four brakes for me for around the £200 mark.
I completely disagree with you about the Brembos. From cold to hot they always performed unless you got them too hot. One could only imagine yours had some non standard pads in? One of the Brembos failings is getting rid of heat. Designed to look big and chunky to look the part. This therefore has the negative impact of retaining too much heat.

In fact, top job From Adam last night. In just over an hour he'd replaced the wife's front pads and disks. Top job as always.

With regards to fitting i paid to ensure they were done by a dealer so wouldnt get told they werent fitted right by a third party.
As for the brakes i disagree with you there. My WR1 has exactly the same braking characteristics as the RB320 which was bought with 8k miles on it. From cold they are not sharp and need a lot of force to use them effectively unlike other cars (dare i mention the ST or even a standard 1.2 clio). Once warmed up on the roads around here they were fine although if you used them in anger with heavy braking then that would lead to brake fade. The pedal would get spongy as the fluid boiled and they failed to cool properly and it all goes horribly wrong. No idea what pads i used to have but i assume it was the OEM ones on the RB given its age.
