Postby Azyman » Thu Feb 12, 2009 8:49 pm

The FQ400 was available in all 4 MR colours - gunmetal, silver, red and white.

Gunmetal was by far the most popular, silver looked naff, the red was nice...but white was just porn

rattly, laggy, horrendous clutch,warped brakes, Juddery, Avoid :lol:

Oh and it had only done 4000 miles :shock: :shock:

I test drove two red ones back to back FQ320 and FQ400 and way preferred the feel of the 320, even though the power delivery of the 400 was awesome when on boost.

Awesome bit of kit - if a little weak in the gearbox department :lol:

You'll hear everyone going on about how hard they are to drive :zzz: - i'm sure if your really struggling my misses could show you, she had no problems - and how this or that is faster, but it just aint, the speed on boost is mindboggling and i'm sure my car is to blame for a number of wr1 owners selling up!!

Very, very expensive to run though and i wouldnt touch one without the extended warranty - but if you want to go M5 bashing, it's just the tool :wink:

Oh how I wish I could have kept that car :cry:

PMSL, there is no way on Earth it would touch the M5 0-190mph mate, im sorry.

And dont be telling folk FQ400's are good, because they simply are not!

A well modded FQ320 or a 360MR is what you want.

PMSL

0-190 MPH? what planet are you on Bigman? :lol:

Whats the power to weght ratio of an M5 compared to a FQ400? This is far more relavent.

Around a track i would think a FQ400 would be the one to be in.

Well it'd be well ahead by 60, still ahead by 100 and neither car can do 190 so we'll never no :?

Your right, my FQ400 wasnt good, it was fantastic - yours ??!! They do cost a fortune to run though, i mean way more than my 6 did, and the drivetrain aint up to the engine so a warranty is essential, but the speed is sensational and the tuning potential huge.

A 320 is a good car, if left standard, but my friends 360 has had as many gearbox issues as my 400 did. The 6 speed box is poor, cant take the power, hence the reason why the X has gone back to the stronger 5 - not really evolution if you ask me!!

POESY the M5 is good for around 194mph.

And lets not forget ive owned 400bhp evo's infact Ive
owned atleast 6 cars over 400bhp.

I do know what I am talking about.

The fact that my dad is only 5ft 9 is irrelevant :lol:

I believe the FQ400 did post a better time around the
top gear track but then its short and twisty, it was about a
second faster than the M5.

Did you not have yours remapped anyway ? p.s if they are so
good why can no one manage to sell theres, they are like pink
elephants on the MLR no body wants one.

As for the gearboxes, well its a mistubishi, they have never been
built to last, thank god my days of evo's are over, I just dont
like getting my hands dirty anymore, I was forever under the bonnet
of every evo I owned.

Never had an issue with an impreza tho.

Quick google and a bash on the calculator gives this.

M5 - 1830KG/507bhp = power/wieght ratio of 0.277
FQ400 - 1410KG/405bhp = power/weght ratio of 0.287

M5=FAIL

M5 0-60 4.3 secs
FQ400 0-60 3.5 Secs

M5=FAIL

M5 top speed = 155 mph (we are talking standard cars here)
FQ400 top speed = 175 mph

M5=FAIL

If you had a 0-100-0 time then i am sure M5 =EPIC FAIL.

Out and out performance wise (which is what Bbigman is batting on about) the FQ400 is better. Full stop. You cant argue with physics.

No its not, unles you mod it, which you always have a go at other people about.

I'm sorry, but your masturbatory prose extolling the virtues of your own car highlights the rather blinkered outlook you have on every other car.

Whichever car you own at the time seems to be the best thing ever produced full stop! :lol:

Fairly obvously an FQ400 has some major downsides compared to a M5, but performance is not one of them and you are a bit stupid if you can't see that.

On topic, MM is right. An M5 can't touch an FQ400 as well on the twisties (which is obvious given how heavy the M5 is) as on the straight.

Dude, lets not fall out over it cos really i dont care - had enough of evos myself so not likely to ever own one again, and the M5 just doesnt float my boat whatsoever...even if it can do 294mph!!

And, just for the rcord ive owned at least 6 cars with less than 400 hp :lol:

Oh, and please DO NOT, EVER, believe anything you ever read on the mlr otherwise youll be selling your BM tomorrow and buying an evo 5 RS cos they are apparantly the fastest, best, most desirable car ever made, ever, so there :lol:

PEACE :wink:
