defi bf'sanyone had defi bf's fitted?
trying to sort out a FAIR price to have them supplied and fitted. thanks rooter
A few of us are looking at getting them. Which part of the country are you in?
I've posted some prices in "General" that i've got from a dealer i trust with my car. Chris
I can organise a group buy...
Although this months Scooby Mag has a guide to fitting defi's.....if you are brave enough
defi group buy also....... my pockets have so been drained this last week........
SPEC'C' purchase followed by
I've been hoping someone would start a group buy price on the BF's for months now.
It would be nice to see a price for them, even if i am now changing cars! Someone start the ball rolling please! Too petty to be a traffic warden...
OK I will supply prices for the BF & Link Module; though pods are an issue at the moment.
I would however order in one lump sum so the sooner people give me firm orders & a debit/credit card number; I'll get the ball rolling You can have either white or amber dials in the BF range & prices are: BF 60mm Turbo
can i ask, do you know that if you have these fitted by yourself, would that muck up the warranty on my car, or not.
i have trouble reading the oil what i was trying to ask was about the warranty if i decided to get these you would be the ones that fitted them you are the pro's who no what they are doing
My local dealer told me a few months ago that it wouldn't void my warranty as they are monitoring devices. You would be best to check with your own dealer just to be on the safe side.

Yes but what you don't know is it took us 5 hours on the day, as a DIY er I wouldn't spend 5 hours of my weekend wiring in some gauges.
What the article will do is help those that are COMPETENT to do it quicker & for those that thought they maybe able to do it to think again.
i always get the pros to install anything in a 30K car THE WR1 RR DVD http://www.scoobycity.co.uk/wr1/phpBB2/ ... highlight=
Chelspeed, you have completely missed the point........
The reason Scooby Mag did the article was to help people with some idea of what to do & there are some copetent DIY'er out there. There are some people that will give it a go whatever & usually they have no skill level in autoelectrics whatsoever. It is this last person that I cannot understand & yes we have seen cars brought in on a trailer because someone thought they would give it a go... Realistcally I look at any job around my house ie the garden - this has become overgrown & will take me at least 1 hour each evening to sort out or maybe 3 Sundays working 8-4. When I get a professional to quote me & they advised
Would far rather the piece of mind knowing a job is done properly by someone who knows what they are doing even if it does cost a bit extra.
Don't think I missed the point. I'd rather pay someone to do gardening, likewise for decorating because I find that kind of thing a chore. But for car stuff (except gearboxes and diffs...) I'm capable of doing it myself, enjoy doing so and would always rather do it myself than pay someone, who's work standards I don't know, to do it for me.
What I objected to was your sweeping derogatory comment that implied everyone who would rather do it themselves than pay you
Lets keep this on topic and not slide into debating any mis-understandings over fitting these.
Cheers for getting the price together on these knowlsey - very much appreciated. I have had knowlsey and the team at xtreme scoobies work on my WR1 and my previous 98Turbo. All I will say is that I have never had a single complaint with anything they have done and would have no problems leaving them to fit anything to my WR1. Gauge fitting of Defis I know is one of Paul's (at Xtreme's) specialities andthese Bfs are a nightmare to fit. Chelspeed ... I wish I could work on my car like you are able to work on yours ... and I agree with getting a sense of achievement from doing stuff by yourself. If however people decided that they didn't want to start unscrewing and drilling in their engine bays I would recommend Xtreme to do it!
if i was to get all 4 gauges, would 3 be in a pod and the water, set somewhere near to the other 3, does the defi module fit in where the cup holder goes, and the price for all plus fitting is 643.95, thanks.
i forgot to put the price of the pod with that price, because you did not put that up, so that on top.
On a personal recommendation; & we have fitted all 8 gauges to a car before....
I would go for the centre pod with these oil temp, boost, oil press oil temp, boost, water temp, oil press, boost, water temp My reason for this is that the 3 gauges in the pod look really smart & if you add a 4th or more gauges it can looked overcrowded & detract from the main 3 pod gauge (though this is personal choice for all )
thank you, in your opinion what are the 3 gauges that you would fit, also how much is the pod for these, thanks.
