THanks mike for organising the RR day, really enjoyed it
the results was not near what i was hoping... BUT i made 10lbft+ extra torque RR on March - 354bhp 347lbft Today @ WRC Tech Silverstone 332bhp 357lbft sorry for leaving early as i got something else to do Nice to meet some of you. hope to see you lots again. thanks Kevin Life is Short..... Play more
Great turn out hopefully this will generate a bit more ontrest in future events-I think everybody ended up on the rollers aswell
Was good to see some familiar face and meet some new ones , Great to see some of the Herst Subaru's along aswell - maybe another joint meet soon (Dan-your now mr events -that's my 1 for this year ) Great job Robin on finding the pub-good choice On the figures front from what I saw most were "down" on previous RR days??But as explained sometimes (dont know how)tuners are generous?? My own figs were as follows TRL(the racing line) WRC(WRC technologes): Bhp: TRL 305bhp atw = 401-402 afw = 386 at the roller WRC 292bhp atw = 385-386 afw = 369 at the roller Torque: TRL 386ft/lb WRC 380ft/lb So down slightly but not drastically . Studying the graphs though they are almost identical in curve/shape. Pics anyone Crash bang wollop!!
great turn out today, good to meet new faces and catch up with old friends.
i have some theories about the figures, which I shall create a long post about later
Well a great day, thanks Mike for organising it, nice to meet some new people.
I was pleased with the result, not knowing what output the car had. Came in with 307bhp & 320 lbft not bad in standard trim. Think suspension is first mod on the list .... certainly after that run out for lunch...and trying to keep up with Wozza & Mike on the way back, especially at the end of the A507 & under the A1 A few piccies.......................... ....and a 500ish bhp job that was there [/img]
Tell us more......... Gre pics Smudga...anyone else gotr pics? Crash bang wollop!!
Dan
I look forward to reading your theory. The figures are what they are. On the day we had standard cars running standard numbers, we also had 3 x cars that had been on our rollers previously, deliver numbers within 1-2% of the original numbers, two of these had faults. [1 x thermostat & 1 x Boost solenoid] The 3rd car ran within 2 BHP at 373 vs original 375 this is less than 1% ??? So if anyone had numbers that they were unhappy with or lower than on another day at different rollers, either the car was down on the day, the other rollers were more generous or they were just told porkies by the tuner who did the work. I did make mention of one tuner who has a dedicated fan for top mount intercoolers, which is all well & good, however Martins car still has a top mount and runs 373 to 375 in front of our very eyes without a dedicated fan for top mounts ? So dispelling the myth that such a device is reqd. Allan
I wish I could have gone to this, but I had to work yesterday morning.
Looks like it was a great day as well. Kevin
Thanks for a great day everyone, it was good to finally meeting up with you all, a top bunch of people, nice to feel welcome
Good to see everyone getting on the rollers in the morning, I was chuffed with 315bhp from my standard 1, only problem is I think I might have the engine modding bug now and I'm not sure of a cure The run over to the pub was spot on, a special thanks to spikey for organising it all, looking forward to future meets, thanks again guys and here are a few more pics from the day
Top day people
It was worth all of the 600 mile round trip And some cracking pics aswell Thanx to Spike for organising And to Robin for the back lane drive to the pub for lunch 2007 BMW M5

cool day
nice drive up there well pleased with my 330 BHP as i didnt know it was done so good result from the main dealer [not often that happens] you could defo blow some cash in that place all the add-ons and the knowledge at the WRC place good thing as well if you spend
You had better put your name down for the next weekend/overnight meet mate You seem to have the qualifications that are required Crash bang wollop!!
Now, if someone organises an event and they manage to get me to come along, then they deserve all the praise in the world!
As some of you may have noticed, I'm a bit of a recluse. ......That's why I like to drive understated cars! Sold out and bought an EVO......then sold it because it was rubbish!
You gotta start coming out mate, I feel like a tomato in a bowl of lemons at the meets these days Crash bang wollop!!
Finally...my broadband is back to life.
Great day out lads especially that run to the pub Still scratching my head about my figures 318bhp / 310lbft. Don't understand why my boost gauge reads 1.5 BAR and the plot only shows 1.1 BAR . I know Defi's overread by 0.1 BAR but 0.4?!! I'll get the gauges checked out and also I'll find someone with a Wideband Lamda to see what the on the road figures for fueling are like. I suppose 318bhp ain't to bad at 1.1BAR, should make more like 350bhp when it's running at 1.4 Anders Engine: FMIC with K&N CAIK, Oil Catch Can & MD321H turbo. Next mod: TBD
Brakes: Turbo Groove Discs, Pagid RS29's & Braided Hoses. Suspension: Whiteline front and rear ARB's, ALK
i think the fact you kept up with me an pooster on the run back says it all mate
Lee I/We would all love to meet you and the family and if a toned downed meet would surpass then let it be so ....Minehead for a weekend is not too far, lets do BUTLINS fpmsl 2007 BMW M5

At the end of the day if your happy with the way your car drives then thats the end of it ! If your not then seek a solution Everycar there on Saturday has figures to relate to on power graphs, but its the drive of the car that keeps you happy Me I want more Last edited by WR 1mposter on Sun Apr 29, 2007 11:46 pm, edited 1 time in total.

GUTTED!!! I really wanted to be there
I'm really glad you all had a great day, and this vindicates the site's presence - - it's all about the people
I'll be interested to see what the real boost pressure is when I get a second opinion. Need to find someone with a boost gauge and a length of pipe to run to the cabin. Like Martin says - it's how it drives that counts, but it would be great to have good figures and a rocket on the road Anders Engine: FMIC with K&N CAIK, Oil Catch Can & MD321H turbo. Next mod: TBD
Brakes: Turbo Groove Discs, Pagid RS29's & Braided Hoses. Suspension: Whiteline front and rear ARB's, ALK
lets have a list then of what everyones car did?
(particularly interested in yours Dan) Anders, do you not have a boost gauge? or are you worried that the one you have is not correct? I would tend to trust a dyno dynamics copmared to PS's Maha as regards to true on the road figures but a lot of cars do not spool correctly on dyno dynamics and don't always reach the boost they achieve on the road. If JP is Roland Rat, them I am Errol the Hamster... His number 1 fan.
I've got a Defi boost guage fitted, but while it was reading 1.5 BAR on the Dyno (me watching in passanger seat), the plot shows a peak of 1.1BAR. Chris from WRC Tech suggested the boost gauges might have been plumbed in to the wrong place, as he was measuring pressure from the inlet manifold. Do you know where the Defi's are plumbed in as standard? Btw my figures at Powerstation were 332 bhp, and the Dyno Dynamics showed 318bhp. I'm going to test my Defi's and check Lamda independantly from PS or WRC Tech, then I can see what the next step is. Cheers Anders Engine: FMIC with K&N CAIK, Oil Catch Can & MD321H turbo. Next mod: TBD
Brakes: Turbo Groove Discs, Pagid RS29's & Braided Hoses. Suspension: Whiteline front and rear ARB's, ALK
List of figures
1. Martin - 373bhp/350lbft down on previous rr figures at wrc by 3/15 2. 2007 BMW M5

you can plumb them in anywhere thats sensing manifold pressure. The normal place is to T into one of the existing vacuum hoses leading from the manifold.
What bar does it give on the maha dyno at PS. If JP is Roland Rat, them I am Errol the Hamster... His number 1 fan.
PS plot, a fairly steady 1.4 BAR: Engine: FMIC with K&N CAIK, Oil Catch Can & MD321H turbo. Next mod: TBD

List of figures
1. Martin - 373bhp/350lbft down on previous rr figures at wrc by 3/15 2.Spike - 386bhp/380ft/lb down on TRL 402/386ft/lb -both worked on 24% loss rule from atw. As pooster says if your happy with your car This is the usual RR debate At the end of the day 320 as opposed to 380 bhp on the road or down lanes is not goiong to be very apparent - over 20 laps on a track you will notice it as a difference of 1 second a lap adds up over time.
