If that is his intro to modding then I look forward to the next bout!

I think a standard RA is 280bhp,after a re-map it should go to 330+,on a lightweight car it should be quite rapid.

well hi, and many thanx for allowing me to join your club despite not owning a WR1! im ollie (the supposed rugby star) and a very good friend of chris b whose got the fancy dan ROSY B WR1 im sure u all know about!
finally got an impreza and thanx to chris have been very fortuante enough to pick up an sti type ra in very good condition! drove it for a few days and soon got it booked into roger clark motorsport for a good check-up and service! once there couldnt help myself having a few bits and bobs done with the guidance of matt and ollie and also chris!
Anyway finally got it back now and it looks fantastic and sounds even better with the new exhaust! was funny really as ollie clark asked me how loud i wanted it to be and i thought it was loud before so he suggested leaving the silencer on, thankfully so! might be loud but its beautiful!
well take care anyone who reads this and many thanx once again,

Hopefully not all Classic owners behold such internal pity deep within their sole. I'm lead to believe that 99.9% of Classic owners drive around in a Classic because they passionately prefer them to the Newage alternatives. Lets face it, there are many advantages to a Classic!!!

Couple of good shots there showing RCM's prep.
How many other companies do you know that Drill and lockwire your sump plug as a matter of course?

Why is this good practice? I've been looking at it and trying to firstly work out what the wire is and why it is there? Help, you know I'm thick.

So the sump plug cant undo and dump the oil everywhere. It's required in all forms of motorsport but RCM do it FOC on all cars they service. I will of course do it on yours

So the wire is not just like a plug chain in your bath. It actually stops the plug turning and consequently coming out. Out of interest, is this a real problem? I've never heard of such events? Very intrigued by this. And for my next question, where is the sump plug so I can check that you have done it properly? I really hope to go over my engine with you in detail. I do want to learn and find my around a little better.

The sump plug is threaded i.e you turn it clockwise and it tightens up. The consequences for your engine if it comes loose and more importantly cars or bikes following you don't bear thinking about. Obviously with it lockwired it cant undo anti-clockwise. Under normal circumstances they should not undo, but it can and does happen. It's just good practice and an extra bit of safety never hurt anyone. I will spend all the time you require to advance your knowledge. I will also take loads of pics of what i am doing to your car and put them on here as a record with a little write for the simple reason it's very nice to show any potential buyers in the future that it has been modded correctly with quality bits and not by some twat in his garage. Even though it has been done by some twat in his garage

In fact we should start a thread now as we have started, but this stupid BBS is so un-technical it does not even have a projects forum MODS/ADMIN? or just whack it in the garage forum?

I would really appreciate the pics and history log. I think it would be useful. Ordinarilly I would suggest the members section to add a little security but since this isn't controlled anymore then I would prefer to keep it off the site for the time being.
