Only one I know of is a 600 mile car around the Kidsgrove area but that very rarely gets driven
Someone from Premier Leek had one but I think they have sold it now.
There are a couple of us in the Macclesfield area 8)

Thre was one on ebay just last week in Leek, but the auction was terminated before the end. I assume it was sold? I live in Endon & work in Leek. Dan have you ever used Monks Heath Motors?? I have a service due and I,ve booked it with Holdcrofts in Newcastle as I'm unsure if Monks Heath are a genuine Subaru dealership?

Monks Heath are a genuine Subaru Dealership but I dont use them. Wr1 Bro used them a couple of times and I think they were o.k. I used to use Prosport in Stockport when the car was under warranty and they were always pretty good but never got back to me when I kept asking them for quotes to do a few modifications.
The best Subaru mechanic in the area by far is Adam at Autotecnica in Buxton, he is not Subaru approved but used to work for Monks Heath before setting up on his own. His prices are less than half what Monks Heath charge and he takes great care with everything he does. I have used him for loads of jobs including servicing , fitting brakes, exhausts , Defi gauges and he also fitted all my anti rollbars, droplinks and anti lift kit. Wr1 Bro also uses him regularly so he is used to working on Wr1's and many of the guys from Smacs our local club also use him. At the end of the day it depends how important the Subaru stamp is to you. If the car is still under warranty its probably best to go to Subaru but if not it would be worth trying Adam, his number is 01298 27391

I spoke to Adam at Autotecnica toady, he seems like a decent guy. I'm booked in for a major service, fitting a pod with 3 gauges and changing the standard stereo unit for a touch screen double din I've bought. The price he quoted is superb. I,m going to arrange with him to fit my new pads and discs in the near future. Thanks for the info chaps...nice one.

I'm sure you will be going back in the future. I've never considered using any other garage since finding Adam.

I,m taking the car to Adams house tomorrow (Wednesday) early evening and collecting it back from him after work on Friday, from his workshop I guess ??. Perhaps we could meet up on Friday as the Mrs will be hanging around tomorrow waiting to bring me home. She'll just drop me off at Adams about 6.00pm ish on Friday and make her own way home with me following on as & when. Maybe we could go for a swift half ???

Sorry, I'm busy on Friday otherwise I would have popped along.

Maybe you could both get your cars under his garage sign and get a picture... call it a mini WR1 meet.

Sorry I didn't get up to Adams on Friday , are you pleased with what he has done ?

Hiya Dan, I'm more than pleased. Adam's knowledge and his prices are top notch. Hes charged me less than half what Subaru quoted me and he's done some extra little bits and pieces as well. The only thing I'm unhappy about (and this is nothing to do with Adam at all) is that the Lamco gauges he's fitted light up blue and not green to go with the rest of the dash. I assumed they were green like the rest of the dash lights as they came in a Subaru pod and I was told they were purchased from Subaru?? I'll see if I can live with them or ask around if the bulbs can be changed to green? I,m going back to Adam in a few weeks time to have new pads & combi disks fitted, Black Diamond I think as AP's are out of my price range unless my numbers come up on the lotto tonight........As you know Ive only had the car for a matter of weeks and the best news from Adam was that the car is a really nice example and everything does what its supposed to do. Thanks again to you & Bro for the contact.
