WR1 for sale at Focusrsdirect, was it yours?

Postby mossy1283 » Thu Jun 14, 2012 4:55 am

Hi,

I've noticed a WR1 advertised at focusrsdirect just outside Bristol for £10999 but it doesn't specify which number it is, it just says no.? Of 500. I've tried contacting them and had no reply or answer. Does anyone know who's car this was and anything about its history.

Cheers,

Andy

I'd stay well clear until you know the number. Some cars have dodgy history.

If you can get to the garage and look at it, the car should come with a tax disc holder which will have the number etched into the rear of it. There should also be a certificate in the paperwork which states what number it is too IIRC.

It is a fairly easy thing for a dealer to check, have you spoken with them? You could ask them to check this info whilst you are on the phone if they walk out to the car.
[Just incase this gets lost in translation, I am not slandering you, I know people can be sensitive to these harsh words.]

I've phoned, no answer and emailed and no reply but will try them again. But like you say it's not hard to find out the number of the car but their advert says ? Of 500 which seems really odd. That suggests to me the paperwork does not include anything with the number on. The pictures do look good and the milage isn't bad but I am really cautious now with any discrepancies on adverts!

My own circumstances may well be changing chaps (might need an Auto), so I may be considering putting #429 up soon! totally stock and used in an Autoexpress feature, one previous owner and FULL documented history/purchase/key ring/certificates/tax disk/mats and all that lol! Took me 6 months to find :)

I was reading in Total Impreza about some chap who lost a leg in Iraq or Afghanistan, he had an auto 'box fitted to his classic rather than give it up!
There are no stupid questions, only stupid people.

But then you'll have to join a forum, with lots of interesting Germans and accountants - worse still German accountants.

Whereas, you can part with a few quid and stay baking muffins for the retards on here instead.

Or just get yourself another knee.

Where are you based Matty?

Nothing wrong with a C63 in my opinion. The box on the C63 isn't as lightning fast as the GTR box but it is very smooth in comparison. The C63 isn't dull like an accountant. It is much more of a handful to handle than a GTR. The C63 has a lovely balance of sporty drive v comfort and race v luxury.

C63 is a sensible family saloon that turns suicidal with your right foot.

Its one of my awesome helicopters I work on, Im an Aircraft engineer in the Royal Navy.

Found out some gen on the car for sale at Focusrsdirect. Its no. 302, the bloke got funny with me on the phone when I asked him what number it was and why I wanted to find out. He said it has 14 stamps in the book and has had the cambelt change twice. They changed it then realised it had been changed recently anyway?? Also has had 5 owners, and came from a scottish bloke.

Searched through the website for 302 and found it has had a blown engine and g/box. Owned by WRX bankrupt and Bonnie Scotland.

The guy sounded really confused it hadn't sold and why people were always phoning up asking for what number it was. Maybe he doesn't know??
