come to think of it mate when i was going to buy mine there was another one that he got in and held for me that was a FT04 plate as i rung up and got a quote for insurance on it. I went to see it and put a deposit on it and hed sold it but promised mine was due in 3 weeks. that was last feb-march time so its been sold in under a year.

I'd suspect someone bought it who can't afford to run it, in which case it may have been ragged to death and then sold back... Either way, anyone who buys it would do well to get someone who knows about Subaru's to give it a once over and check that the correct spec is actually on the vehicle!!

For a kick off, the advert says 305bhp.... not the best of starts..

Yer I spotted that - its obviously lost a few horses after their ragging to death...

Although getting a car checked over doesnt always pay off. I got my car checked by KT Green. Got a "Damage Report" and said fix that lot and I will take it. They agreed but didnt touch any of the issues. All they did was wash it and even that was piss poor - the exhaust hadnt been touched etc. Took it straight back after doing the deal as the discs were grinding. Between my test drive and picking the car up the brake pads had warn through to metal on metal. not a great start - then the tyres were illegal, the struts were knocking, the alloys had been curbed.. nightmare.... never again will i get a redline special... (unless they do me a good deal ;) )

That's my car and it was me driving it when you saw it! covered over 3500 miles in it,£400 fuel (super unleaded) and a full service all in one month. And believe me this car still has all it's horses,it is as fit as a butchers dog,and i mean FIT!

Just posted you a reply in the other section.... Was that you ragging it through Harrogate? It looked like a mechanic, are you a mechanic? I've seen it driving down West Park alongside the Stray as we do the Armed Forces training on the stray Mon & Wed & Sat.

Have you had it in a rolling road yet? I'm asking this question genuinely...

FPMSL - Both Mega and I have seen this car and bought WR1's from the same garage and both had quite serious issues with them!!

I saw the car been driven with a drivers seat cover. I remember it well as I was amazed to see another WR1 whilst I was sat at work slaving away by gazing out of the window at the traffic. It was being driven quickly but then again thats what people buy a scooby for... ;)

If you got it from redline id advise getting it checked out by an independant garage. If you bought it as seen and its okay then fair play to you.

Yes it was me driving it when you saw it and yes i am a mechanic and yes i did buy it from redline but this car is spot on,i don't need to get it checked out as i've been through it myself and i serviced it myself, done a full Subaru 60,000 miles service,to Subaru schedule before you ask! I know this car like the back of my hand. Not had it on a rolling road yet, i've only had it since the very end of March, give me chance!

Thats actually quite reassuring to hear that it was you driving it like that - as weve said before redline have a habbit of abusing peoples cars so its nice to see it was you giving it some stick rather than those guys. Are you local?
