Prodrive mud flaps

Postby fh83 » Fri Aug 01, 2008 4:57 pm

Anyone with a picture of their WR1 with prodrive mud flaps on, 'hanging high!' On two minds whether to do it of not. Like the prodrive ones but dont want the car to look like im off to rally it! Argh decisions! :?

I've got the prodrive ones sitting high, think they look great. Prefer them high than the scraping the ground low look & there's less change of ripping them of.

Will try & get a pic up later for you.

My 'performance creations' flaps in plain black.

I know they're not Prodrive - but considerably cheaper.

@StevieWR1

Here's what I've been able to gather:

These are in short supply but still available in either black or WR blue.

Part no for black front: FACC2592, black rear: FACC2593, the price seems to be a consistent £115 per pair inc VAT.

More info from here (but must be ordered from a dealer):

I would stay away from the Prodrive ones.

The plastic they used discolours.

Scott Lowe had the same problem with his first batches (as he uses the same supplier) but sent the lot back. Prodrive never bothered and even gives a letter with the flaps saying they can discolour and it's your f*cking problem
The letter is of course in the box, not on the box or on the sales-website so you could refuse the flaps...

I would get a set of Scott Lowe. Had quality service from him. Even when my carbon flaps got destroyed in Finland, I got new ones posted out there.

Finally, I'd hang my flaps 'high'

I know some swear to hang them low. However, in the high position, the stick out more and protect the bodywork better, especially the front doors. Protecting the underside that already is covered with plastic, is a tad pointless imho.

Here is some pics of the flaps after I took them off...

And some pics of the flaps on the car.

I've had two sets of black Prodrive flaps and never had a problem with discolouration.
