Yer I wouldnt recommend using any kind of TAPE to hold a spoiler on. I had a blast it must have been two years ago now, against a chav'd up corsa and its "stuck on" roof spoiler. It flew off when it got to around 70 without much warning. Luckily I was overtaking him at the time otherwise it could have caused quite a bit of damage. Funniest things ive ever seen was the guys face though. He obviously didnt think it through and work out that at higher speeds there are some seriouse wind forces - is it just over 1 ton equivalent or something... flowing over the "taped on" spoiler...

This is all very interesting as when I asked Crossroads to fit a roof spoiler to my Spec D they said it wasn't possible as regular STi has strengthening where the spoiler fits and the Spec D was like a WRX and didnt have the strengthening to take the wind forces generated by the spoiler.

That is worrying for the guys who have spoilers fitted.

i was speaking to a guy a month ago and his one was stuck on with tape said he had no problems.
i wanted one but i am still sceptical that it would stay on as there is no way i would bolt one on.

Worse that can happen, is that it comes of, flies away, takes a chunk out of your rear spoiler and ends up in the windscreen of the guy driving behind you leaving you with a nice personal liability... :?

You only live once, mate ! Go for it

mine was fitted by Scooby dealer. Believe they used the black windscreen type mastic. No worries.
