Original wheels and tyres fitted to WR1 before upgrade

Postby Ant » Wed Mar 02, 2005 6:35 pm

Brand new 17" STI gunmetal wheels fitted with bridgstone REO70 semi slick tyres, Thinking of buying a set of these so I will have have two different sets of wheels to choose from also will make tyres last twice as long as each set will only be on the car for half the time, The tyres look the dogs and are supposed to be sh1t hot in the dry, have found these for sale at less than the cost of a set of tyres, I think it could be handy to have A spare set of wheels what do you think should I get a set?

If they're going cheap get them. If you're going to do track days they will be very good.

Out of interest how much will they be? I've seen a few prices banded about.

Have heard they are not so hot in the wet also, but great in the dry hot summer months.

At the end of the day if you don't like them you can always keep the wheels and put winter tyres on them and sell the part worn RE070 tyres to someone who likes them.

Or you could go to your dealer and testdrive the MY05 STi, which has them as standard.

No prob, put mine on yesterday look great but a bit more road noise though, will clean and refit 18's when 17's are scrubed in and keep 17's for summer blasts or track days if I ever do one, or just in case I need another set of wheels in the case of damage/refurbing/getting tyres etc etc, glad your happy look forward too meeting you at future events. :D
