clicky

The original HT Auto's splitter which is currently on the car is FAR too flimsy and brittle. Already cracked the mofo on the low kerb outside the house. Not noticeable to the untrained eye, but to me it IS.

So gone for the uprated jobbie, made from much tougher black plastic.

Along with this and the new Brembo front discs and DS2500 pads from Alyn at ASP, that takes my spending to around £10184732932 in 2 weeks.

F*cking cars

Still, the WR1 looks absolutely mint now. I have the Hayward and Scott exhaust fitted, the K&N Typhoon which is making use of the original air feed, a WR1 rear boot badge so people know what it is, and my W121 EVL number plates are now on the car too!

Chuffed and officially skint 8)

The splitter you mean?

No pics yet, will post some when it arrives next week! :)

There was a group buy on Scoobynet, and people were very happy with it! I believe Scoobydan on here bought one, too 8)

I was very happy with mine.......... Until I broke it
It was stronger than a fibreglass one but it didn't take a very big knock to break it.
I didn't paint mine but was never 100% happy with the finish off the plastic as it had lots of hairline scratches in it.
If I was to buy another splitter I would go for the same again as the fit was very good but I think I would try and get it sprayed in the same black as the trim that goes around the windows and down either side of the roof 8)

Cheers Dan. I'll have to see what the quality is like on mine :)

What did you break it on though?

I wasn't concentrating and misjudged the height of a curb
I did give it quite a bash
I have also been known to mash the odd alloy or two

WR1 Splitter

Yep, I have to agree, a front splitter seem to change the looks of most special, limited addition and performance cars not just the Impreza’s but they do look the dog’s bullocks on the STi and WR1.

We have been thinking about getting one fitted for some time now but other things have taken the priority. (A new side to the car for example) That is until two weeks ago when I was talking to Zimmerman who told me he had fitted a carbon fiber splitter and he had two spare, a black one that he had just taken off and a new one that had been painted and had never been on the car. So you don’t look a gift horse in the mouth and duly went down to buy the painted one for the 1. My son had the black one for his STi.

I fitted the splitter to the 1 last weekend and pretty pleased with it, although I will be changing the fixings in the next few weeks for something much more substantial.

They do look the nuts... especially when paint in my opinion...

I couldn't live with one though.

Think I prefer the splitter unpainted. Kinda separates things up, and matches a few other things on the front end.

Painted does look nice, too. But I'll save a bit of cash I think!

A few others brought this to my attention when ours was on :?

So perhaps will leave it black if one is fitted again.

I agree with Scutch, I prefer it unpainted, it is more obvious to the eye and frames the front end better.

They certainly are difficult to keep in good condition, avoid multi storey car parks like the plague or you'll have to do a Dan and reverse down all the ramps

I can image a painted one will be even harder to maintain as it will show every little scrape and bump.

Oh and one more thing, remind your mechanic you have a low front end when he drives it off the ramp after servicing it

Assuming he/she ( ) can get it on the ramp to start with.

Always reverse into parking spaces with a kerb at the end!!

Took mine for its service at my usual subaru dealer last week, and the mechanic managed to do a lot of paintwork damage to the front near side corner of both the splitter and the front valance itself. You'll see the damage on Sat :(

Glad I bought the splitter in the end, as on my way back from the remap yesterday on the motorway, the one that is on the car decided to do a kamikaze exit via the front and rear wheels.

So now I have 3/4 of a splitter and the drivers side completely missing!

Hows the car after the remap?
