this is a customers car... and it looks sweet.
i know most people would keep the WR1 looking standard... but it's gonna look real sweet once the rest is done.

Being a limited edition car you got to keep in looking standard externally! you change it then it aint a wr1 anymore. That is what i think anyway i agree wit Joe though, keep the modz going my car may be worth lots more. It all depends what you want, i bought my 1 for the fact it was a limited edition, if i was going to mod it i would have bought a standard sti.

But it aint a wr1 anymore! well thats what i think. The P1's and the 22B's the ones that are still avaliable now and pics you see of them are all standard exterior, maybe minor modz, but how the car was intended to be.

I disagree totally with the above statements. If you look at most WR1's, they have had things added or changed. It's all down to personal choice, what's the difference with this modded car and one with a set of red mudflaps, or a set of twin head lights or even a pink "i" badge. It takes nothing away from the car and these changes can always be taken off. Nice job mate, I bought my car because it was different, it has a different colour interior to start with and I have not finished there. No one would tell Petter Solberg he doesn't drive a Subaru impreza, when not many of the parts on his Rally car would fit on a standard Sti. Even the engine is in a different place to start with.

I would bet Petter won t be getting this done to his WR1 ?
I bet his is pretty much Std other than a bit of a Power upgrade maybe ?

ok.. it's not a WR1

Has the customer seen it ?

i think a lot of people should be open minded on this site, as not all of us are run of the mill same as everyone else type of people, this car is not yet finished and will look very nice when done, just because its a wr1 limited edition doesnt mean it is untouchable. as a lot of you wr1 owners will know that the wr1 doesnt live up to all expectations, if it did none of us would modify them.
this car is very individual and its mine!

Im fully with you in the fact that if you like and want to do it then nice one and fair play :thumb:

as for my personal opinion (which you have asked for opinions by putting pics up), i think you have ruined a lovely car with cheap looking tacky add ons - even though they are probably expensive!

Hey ho though - f*ck what me or anyone else thinks is what i say.

BUDA,

It's good to see you here, and thank you for being disciplined in the face of some robust opinions. They are to be expected but then the WR1 club is slightly different and, if we're honest, I'd say we're proud of it.

Each of us has elected to buy a car which has, at the time, been the pinnacle of Impreza models. I can't speak for others, but for me I wanted a car which was the best I could get in the range, and this is it.

Of course many owners modify their car. I have my mods, and others have theirs. Therefore, opinion is subjective and will always remain so as long as there are arguments over 'who's going to do the washing-up?'

I'm pleased that we have had the opportunity to see what you're up to, along with the list of mods. There are different forums to help out on technical aspects, and these you can explore at your leisure, but... for now, why don't you tell us how it feels to drive the car? After all, isn't that what it's all about?

I will post a pic when I get the chance to fit the grill garnish, it looks well made, but will need a bit of trimming to make it fit spot on. But heavily into bathroom mods at the moment. just spent all day chopping off the tiles, anyone know a cheap plasterer
