Dam rabbit!

Postby Paulb022 » Sat Apr 06, 2013 2:55 pm

Well, as the title says, damn rabbit!!
I have recently come to blows in the 1 with a bunny rabbit. The little git decided to head but my front splitter on the corner at around 90mph (yes they are that fast!)
To my surprise he must have been very hard and liked the 1 as he stole a section of my splitter!! (Plastic type) :tosser:
So hence I now need a new front splitter as I prefer this look.
Has anybody fitted a carbon fibre splitter like the type found on eBay? Any feedback, looks, fitting, living with etc??
Cheers
Paul

Poor fookin rabbit, if you were doing 70mph you would have missed the twat and saved yourself some hard earned cash replacing the damaged splitter :tosser:

Yes I have the carbon splitter, much nicer in my opinion. Only changed it because my plastic one came to blows with a speed bump at work.

Try this link, I put some pics up: http://wr1oc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=14615&p=189024&hilit=Carbon+fibre+splitter#p189024

Thanks for the link, I agree carbon fibre looks really good. I'm good for speed humps where I drive, just kamikaze rabbits are my enemy!!

Well the carbon one has a bit more give in it so if one of your coney friends tries it on again it shouldn't do any damage. Might have to just clean the blood off this time!

Had a few close shaves with dead Badgers in the last few weeks on the way to work, luckily they have been in the centre of the road. Would still make one hell of a dent in the valance though. Just thankfull it wasn't a Cow eh..... :wtf:

God yeah, badgers are made of iron. Had a run in with one a few years back in my Ibiza and the car came off worse! We get a lot of fallow deer around here which makes me quite reluctant to spiritedly drive her round the more narrow lanes. I've seen them jump out at people before and you don't stand a chance!

If you all drove a little bit more sensibly you would miss the road kill and have time to think and stop before hitting the little gritters. :tumble:

Whilst there are some F1 wannabe's out there, most animals will do a lot of damage to any car if hit at any normal speed even within the speed limits. :D
Remember hitting a pheasant in one of my earlier cars doing 40 in a 60 zone on a bend which made a mess of the car. No time to react, nowhere to go to avoid it given traffic in front, behind and on other lane, just 'brace for impact'

A mate of mine in North Yorkshire had a deer jump a hedge through his front passenger window (which was open at the time) and landed on his mates lap! Quite a surprise for them both, made a mess of the inside and outside of the car kicking and screaming!
