Headers & up pipe

Postby Steveyk » Mon Jul 11, 2011 11:22 am

Hi guys, pondering swapping the up pipe after the heatshield fiasco and need to call on your experience...

Does the engine have to be lifted or jacked up to get the up-pipe out on the 1? I believe on a WRX it needs to be lifted to allow clearance for the cat to come out. I didn't think STis had a cat in the up-pipe.

Also, out of curiosity, if I fit equal length headers, do I lose the scooby soundtrack?

The boxer engine still burbles at low rpms its only when you boot it that the sound changes to a raw power blat which on mine sounds sweet :)
