induction kit ?

guys ,

any advice on an induction kit for my 1 ... I see Roger Clark are doing an offer for £200 ,,,
or should it just be left standard ,
car has been remaped also

Depends where you are heading with the car. Not beneficial below 400 ish.

I wont be near the 400 mark , just thought it would give me a little extra , and the RC looks nice under the bonnet ,, :lol:

No you will find the standard air intake system on the wr1 is excellent and good until around 400bhp level. Many change to a cone filter to change the noise of the car although if you are aiming for more power it will not give you much if anything more. Also note some induction kits require a remap as they can stop the car from starting properly from what i have been told.

If you want more power your first mods should be changing the 2.5" exhaust system to a 3" system, flow matched uppipe/downpipe. That will make the car drive a lot easier, you wont feel like your making the car work hard giving you the power, it will be freer revving etc. is how i would describe it. Would definitely need a remap to get the full benefit of this and id recommend a decat. Also remember noise doesnt equal power. You dont have to go really loud to get more ooomph. Doing this will ensure you arent wasting any money or causing issues for any future mods if you choose to go further.
