gauges / monitors

Postby Cold Turkey » Wed Sep 29, 2004 9:01 am

seen a few people saying they are going to invest in 'Defi gauges' - which ones ? is there a std package for scoobies ? been to the website (www.defi-shop.com) and got information overload !

and which would be better - gauges or a SECS data monitor ? or just personal opinion ?

tried searching on scoobynet but search isn't working at the moment!

Defi gauges are the nads ... the BF series IMHO are the latest and best. They are completely black when the engine is off but when the ignition is turned they light up and perform at set up routine (amazing to look at) ... they also have a stepper control as well as a full record and playback facility - so are the most accurate and usable gauges available.

You can get them much cheaper than what is offered on the defi-shop site so don't rush in to paying out around

I think i do!

I'm going for the BF's. I thought that you could also add a SECS with them but might be wrong, it's been a month or two since i looked into getting them.

Gangsta, if you don't mind me asking what sort of prices have you been quoted?

And for those who don't know what we're talking about, here's a link!

Yeh you can have both. The defi's will link into the readout points direct ... i.e turbo charger etc. The SECS unit just plugs directly into the ECU port on the underside of the steering column, just above the brake pedal.

I've been quoted

Na I only destroyed 2  but the other two were badly scuffed after I had to do an emergency slide to avoid a n0b end police driver who missed my car by what must have been inches.

So while I have the spare cash (from all that saved petrol money) I thought I'd invest in another two new wheels so I can start afresh.
