RACE DYNAMIX

Postby IAN » Sat May 01, 2010 10:34 pm

Hi i had me car mapped by DUNCAN of RACEDYNAMIX today he is a very nice bloke and very good at mapping scoobys my car feels very smooth and i can feel a real rise in power and boost is up 2 on ducans computer boost is at 1,5 bar but me deffi reads 1.6 bar me deffi was reading 1.4 before so welll happy and it pulls hard and fast all the way up to 7500 revs and my bro is very happy 2 his 2.5 sti pulls hard and fast 2 we tested them on the way home in 4th and 5th side by side on the motorway they seem pull at the same rate but my rev limiter is higher so he has to change gear earlier than me :D and i tested me launch control :D duncan mapped into the ecu aswell floor it at the lights revs bounce around at about 5500 rpm and then dump the clutch and OMG   (DUNCAN  many thanks and see you soon lol)

As per Dynamix's quote - Rocko must be turning from the addicton to the obsession stage if 420bhp isnt enough :)

How does the launch control work on a wr1? When your in a that has it from the factory you put it into 1st gear rev it to 4-5k and the clutch dumps itself, Does launch contol mapped onto the one just stop the car bogging down?

It effectively sets a new rev limit when the car is doing less than 6mph. This would be around 5500. So .. you can floor the throttle and it will bounce at this new rev limit building boost. Builds about 0.8 bar whilst stationary.

It doesn't dump the clutch (that would be kind of dangerous) but you can ;)

Gives a good consistent and quick launch every time.
