Any time anyone says anything against mr Hughes nearly antique piece, he starts arguing. Underbuild your points properly and he starts throwing his toys out of the pram.

Wrong. I have no delusions about the fiscal value of the WR1 or its relevance to other cars on the market. I know very well how old my car is? I have no idea how this came into the conversation Mr Swede. Regards toys out of pram... Mmmm, this may well be true if I actually gave a shit. Sensitivity is hardly a known characteristic that I hold.

I see a big difference betweem the RB320 and the WR1. The main difference being the 2.5 engine which I have experienced on a few occasions and secondly the suspension.

If I wanted to tootle about like a old fart then the RB320 would be worth the money. If you want the revvy hooligan feeling then don't change from the WR1.

The difference between me and you Sandy... I'm not "the big I am"... Boast - I drive like a rally driver..... I drive how it suits me and not to impress others. My comments remain valid. You remain a twat.

Sounds like an Evo with gadgets!

So then Sandy, when you planted you Evo into a pole did you have the "talent" button a.k.a. "ECU driving the car" switched off?

For what I remember, women never had issues driving the scoob as it was 'easy' but none of them managed to master the Evo.

Get over it Stu', Evo is the superior car if you really want to drive.

Maybe we will see you at a trackday once and we'll check it out ?

Mind you, getting you to drive the car on a track will require a miracle. For what I remember, you don't even dare to drive it on the public road. It's always your wife driving ... nuff said

How big is your "sample of women"? Two since puberty?

Evo is NOT a superior car if you REALLY want to drive. If you want to go from A to B quickly, then the Evo is far superior. However, that is only part of the story. Having driven Spikes Evo IX to the cat'n'fiddle it is without doubt a bloody fast A to B car... But it is the car that gets you from A to B and not the driver skill.

Track day... it isn't a competition... You have one the small cock competition by a long shot.

RB320 has wider tyres, firmer ride and from a handling point of view doesnt feel to understeer half as badly as the WR1. It also has a lower front splitter and a rear diffuser which all help suck the car down to the road. It is unique in its own way and with a set of AP's fitted would have been what i expected it to be. Oh the clutch is also a lot lighter than mine so its far easier to drive stop start etc.

Like you say though and im almost agreeing with you here, you find you use the torque not the revs. it doesnt feel as "happy" when thrashed compared to my WR1 if you know what i mean. Ideally a set of ex-tc's on the wr1 and some anti roll bars going by what people say would transform the car to handle more like the RB320. I am waiting for Bro to take me for a spin out in his car after he gets Ex-tc's fit to see if they are as good as the hype :)...

That all points to organising a day trip Martin!!

I read too that if you stiffen the WR1 with a roll bar it handles better..

Amen Bro :D Evo is built to drive itself with minimal driver input & flatter the driver into thinking they're a good driver with all the electronics doing the hard work

Seen a few lassies driving evo's up here.

Pops, they are worth what someone is willing to spend. Credit crunch may well hurt you at the moment. I'd be tempted to asked for £800 since pads and disks are probably required.

So what is the difference between DCCD then and the ACD-AYC system except that the latter does exactly the same as the DCCD but then on centre and rear diff ?

Wise words: Value is what a damn fool will pay for it.

Try flogging them in fleabay, pops and check what you get. Put a reserve that is high enough. If you don't reach the reserve, at least you have control over lowering the price and putting them back on the market.

Nope DCCD is primarily for adjusting the front rear power split while AYC is there to keep the car in line if you get the back end out it then steps in once it senses a certain rate of yaw & pulls it back together before the car spins. Ok auto on dccd aids in a certain kind of way but thats applying some lock to the front diff to pull you through a corner it won't reign the car in in anyway that AYC does, if you get the back end out the dccd won't pull the car back into line like AYC. AYC is a driver aid.

p.s i never use auto mode always have it fully open so there's nothing interfering with my input into the car
