Ment to add the new hatch back scoob now has AYC control like the evo but we all know that was added to them as part of the dilution of the car to appeal to a wider market, i.e making the car easier to drive! i.e making it less of a drivers car & less hardcore (more like a evo :lol: )

Goodness. You know even more about cars than pooster. JP should have called you the Octopus.

The new scoob has nothing similar to AYC. The new scoob is even softer than the old one working with a system more similar to ESP than anything.

The rear diff of the new scoob in no way works vectorial. :wank:

I'm tempted to take these of stijoy but I think £800 might be too much for me if I also have to get pads and discs plus fitting. I know Zen Performance do Ferodo DS2500 pads to fit AP 6 pots for £105 +vat, but I can't find discs. How much are replacement AP discs? Anyone know?

stijoy I know you've done 17,000 miles on these APs, but what are the condition of the discs and pad? How much life is left in discs and pads?

Also am I at risk of having the same experience as Megaman, I know stijoy has these APs on a RB320 and mine a WR1.

Disc are about £400 I think !
Try ASP performance for pads they may be cheaper than Zen

£800, plus £400 for discs and £100 for pads, £1300 in total. Not so appealing now, might just go for performance friction discs and pads with current Brembo calipers.

I'd never pay £1300,- for a set of second hand brakes.

I always see selling second hand bits of a car as a 'nice to have': you get some cash rather than throwing things away or, worse, having them filling up your shelves for 10 years before throwing them away...

In that respect, second hand parts should cost a fraction of new ones, not half price.

I'd also rather go for a new set of PF's.

Ferret, collect the info on prices for pads and disks (they will need replacing) as it would probably be a false economy to fit used pads and disks to shortly have to pay to refit new ones. Weight it up, decide on a price and make him an offer. Money on the table is better than brakes sitting about doing nothing. Obviously checking the colour information along with carriage charges.

If the pads and disks are £500 I would not want to offer more than £500 (half the retail price of the original calipers minus the pads and disks that they were supplied with).

Yeah I've decided to buy new, but Performance Friction not AP due to the cost.

I just recently added the performance friction disks and pads with new 551 fluid and braided hoses...makes a world of difference over standard crappy brakes.

AP are still king, but for everday driving and light track use I am sure they will be just fine.
