door panel removal

Postby Ross » Sat May 17, 2008 12:28 pm

hi newbie here.

can anyone help, i have had my wr1 since feb and are fed up with the
cak speakers in the front and rear doors, not sure what speakers to use yet ??? but they have to go.

how do you remove the door panels ????
had a little look but was told by a dealer that i needed a tool otherwise i would cause damage to the panel and will not be able to refit properly. is this true ??

any help would be most appreciated

In a word...no.

They tell you that so that you pay them to do it for you. Could not be easier.

Just a few screws etc and then it will pull off. Just be gentle.

The hardest bit is removing cover that runs around the inner door handle.

thanks for that i'll give it a try next weekend. :)

do either of you know of any good quality speakers and tweeters to replace the exsisting ones that would just fit directly into the original space without any mods :?:

also is the original head unit good enough to run better speakers or should i change that aswell :?:

thanks

We've got a Alpine head unit, with Genesis componants speakers, with a Genesis amp aswell, and the doors have been dynmated.

Turn off the rear speakers with the "fader" control no one sits in the back, so dont need them.

Cheers
