Tyre Wear

Postby Megaman » Sat May 03, 2008 6:43 pm

Okay guys,

How many miles are people getting out of their front and rear tyres before they need to replace them roughly? Last car was 6-7k per set of fronts and around 18k for rears.

Also do you guys cycle tyres front to back, left to right or anything like that every few thousand miles or so or do you just use them until they wear out.

Cheers

Never had the p zero nero on ours, but the pirelli zero rosso assimectrico we had lasted 15k's and they still have a few miles left on them, but i imagine the nero's would be of a similar life

Neros are harder and therefore should last longer than the rossos IIRC. The pzero neros on my wr1 mast longer than any other tyres I've had on any car recently

Thats good news then anything over 10k and im happy. Do you find both front and rears wear down evenly or is it a case of 2 sets of rears to 1 set fronts etc?

2 rears to 1 set of fronts - unless you rotate them.

You don't need to swap left to right.

I always swap front and rear, but keep the tyres on the same side of the car. Allows to drive around with tyres that have some 'even' wear rather than always have 2 that are much better than the 2 others.

EH !

Left side always seem to wear out quicker over here, so one side will
have more tread, so if compatible I put left over to right and vicki verki
