Launch Control and DCCD Query

Postby Megaman » Sat Mar 15, 2008 6:03 pm

Hi Guys,

Ive seen around the forums a lot of people talking about launch control. Can anyone let me know how this works or will it be in the handbook?

Also the DCCD system... I see it has a locked and a free mode. Could you let me know which settings produces understeer and which produces oversteer in the corners when on manual mode? I also expect locked mode is best for snow and quick starts?

Cheers

Launching will kill your clutch unless you uprate.

DCCD - Leave it alone in auto.

For starters the WR1 does not have launch control - in fact no Subaru has it to my knowledge.

It's a case of wind those revs up and let in the clutch..

The DCCD has a default auto mode which thinks it knows best or you can manually overide this with the controls by the handbrake.

The thumbwheel gives you the option of going from fully locked(getting out of trouble on snow and ice)to fully open, sending the majority of torque to the rear wheels; giving you the oversteer you are talking about.

The left hand instrument on the dash gives you a visual as to where the diff is set by means of coloured symbols. The switch by the handbrake alternates between auto and manual.

The system automatically returns to auto when the ignition is switch off.

Have a search on the forum there are several threads on this subject. :)
