Bumper query before purchase

Postby Megaman » Thu Mar 13, 2008 11:01 pm

Hi Guys,

I noticed today when looking round another WR1 with low mileage and otherwise very good nick that the back bumper has a dent in the left corner. They openly admited they have tried to repair it but the dents still there. Is there anywhere that fixes these minor dents? Alternatively anyone know where I can get a new bumper if i purchase this vehicle and also maybe any idea of price?

Thanks

Mega

I've seen dent guys work miracles on metal... not sure about plastic.

I think I would probably look into a replacement bumper from somewhere like GradeA.

Yep they have said it needs a new bumper cover + painting + fitting... waiting for the price... its a shame this is the only problem with the car - sounds like its gonna cost a bit

Get yourself an STI skin 2nd hand and take it to a good bodyshop to get it sprayed and fitted.

Main dealers take your pants down

Sometimes buying secondhand such as this on ebay, aint worth it with the extra cost for preping etc the hourly £50 labour charges it will soon mount up, before you now it your paying more than new.

But it may pay to buy new and take it elsewhere than a subaru dealer, more often than not thay use other people anyway.
