TurboHi All thinkin of changin my turbo on my 1 ..
And i wanted to know what advantages i would get buy changin it .. also which ones suites the 1 .. with the mods i aready got .. 1> Full sports cat system 2> APS Top mount intercooler 3> APS BOV 4> HKS Race suction Filter 5> ECUTEK ReMap 355 bhp Can you help "666"
I had very similar mods to you and have the aps sr40 turbo which should give you in the region of 370/380bhp and similar lbft.
Do you have a 3" decat system 2007 BMW M5

So would i be right in saying that .. its as easy as bolt on then dyno .. and ecu re programed
Are they about £850 "666"
Withthe spec you have, this would be my choice of turbo as well. Not as expensive as the Garrett based hybrids, straight bolt on, will give you 480 BHP ish (or more if you want to push it) and the standard intercooler will be man enough, and at least as good as the APS one so if you want to save a few quid put it back on and flog the APS. You will just require another Re-map which will cost approx £200-£350. WR1imposter will probably disgree, but if you want to spend the amount of money an APS SR40 will cost you, IMHO there are better turbo's out there. If JP is Roland Rat, them I am Errol the Hamster... Mmmm Might be givin him a call then .. Ill let you Know .. What i do with the 1 ..
I might go back to Race solutions .. the old wrc .. place in silverstone . was happy with there work too thanks Marky mark "666"
Why would I disagree, we all have opinions, just because I chose to have mainly one producer of tuning mods rather than heinz 57 is the reason I had the sr40, and yes its a good turbo and yes there may be better out there "in your opinion" and others who have them fitted ! The down side to the sr40 is the cost but you pay for quality
Now that's one place MM will not agree with In hindsight I agree ! 2007 BMW M5

I meant 380 ish, not 480!

yeh i guessed thats what you ment .. Yeh whats that all about .. you pair fell out .. or summat
how much you think AFP .. would charge .. to do the work ..? Aprox "666"
Just a bit of banter Rocko. Pasty is a top geezer (honestly) but he is as cantankerous and opinionated as i am. Basically we enjoy disagreeing!
Who mapped the car originally? I am assuming Chris Davies at WRC? Not sure Andy F does a 'fitting' service any more to be honest. Where do you live? If JP is Roland Rat, them I am Errol the Hamster... His number 1 fan.
Oh i get ya thats ok then ..
Yeh aussie chap Chris .. who mapped it .. seemed to know his stuff i live in stafordshire.. "666"
If you want to go for a one stop shop, the place i would recommend within a reasonable distance would be Paul Blamire At Zen performance in Northants.
He will supply, fit, and map a TD05/06 20G and he does know his stuff....far better than any one WRC tech ever did. Good rates as well by all accounts. If JP is Roland Rat, them I am Errol the Hamster... His number 1 fan.
oh Nice one .. i ll give him a bell too to see whats on offer ..
You goin to the rolling road day at DS Automotive.. ..? "666"
Yes, i will be there as an interested spectator. If JP is Roland Rat, them I am Errol the Hamster... His number 1 fan.
