Turbo Hose Recall.. How long a wait ?

Postby Brian » Sat Feb 12, 2005 11:36 pm

Ok i had my letter just before Christmas regarding the Re call to change the Turbo Hose.

I phoned Local Dealer 3 weeks ago, and they said " we will ring you as soon as the parts arrive "

That's rather poor service. Off hand i can't remember when i got my letter, although i think it was the same time as most people. From memory the dealer rang me to ask when i'd like to take it in and i had it done on the morning of our Prodrive trip.

I got the letter and rang my dealer. They asked when I wanted to come in. They said I couldn't come the next morning as they needed to order the parts and couldn't order them until the car was booked in, they'd then not arrive until the next morning. So I rang on Wednesday lunchtime, booked it in and they ordered the parts Wednesday afternoon, the parts arrived at the dealer Thursday and I was in first thing on Friday morning.

Sounds like you need a new dealer.

It still amazes me how the quality of service differs from dealer to dealer.
I'm not that happy with my dealership but I phoned them and booked the car in the following week, allowing time for the parts to arrive. Job done.

I certainly wouldn't wait for mine to phone me back because they rarely do. I have to chase for everything. I'd give them a call and find out why it's taking so long.

Im fed up with dealers now...

From the outstart of Ordering The WR1, having to cancel it, and then ordering it from another dealer.

Being messed about regarding Delivery...

And now my Local Dealer, not rining back, They Know me !

I would like to see how long this will take... maybe they will never ring me ?

Hi Bri.
Haven`t even got my letter yet! So phoned dealer ( Milton Keynes )
they ordered the parts, 48 hrs later they were fitted in 20mins!

And if it wasn`t for this site I`d still be none the wiser as to the hose problem!

Had my letter booked in for service week after receiving the letter and had it done together. So the parts only took 1 week to order.

A 1/2 hr wait is all it takes.

As the 1.9 TDi Racing Caddy is far quicker round the city than the Heavy Bog Down Wr1 :(

I was unlucky but got a result

Postby Boo » Mon Jun 13, 2005 6:59 pm

I brought the WR1 and within an hour of giving it a good testing the engine suddenly coughed quite violently I thought I had blown it up, the dash light came on and I limped it home. Subsequent attempts at going a bit cause the same kind of thing at 6500 rpm, then 4500 but it was fine driving in sensible mode.

Got the Mrs to drop it into the garage next day with no warning. They changed the pipes and I collected it after work. That may just be the only time she ever drives it, and I said to her it was seriously ill so no more than 3500 rpm!!
