Div! auto mode

Postby stanley » Fri Oct 05, 2007 5:44 pm

I know its allready probably been done before!
But i just cannot seem to get on with the auto mode.
When driving hard it just seems to be all over the place
when i drive the other halfs car>>

it just seems much more rewarding and stable I have been trying manual mode..wound back to the green..and this seems to be more to my driving style.
But would like some views on what settings you have tried for road and track..would love to take my 1 to a track to mess with the settings..but love it to much to abuse it on a track.

Stanley,

I am personally not surprised.

I drove a few scoobs with DCCD and I found the car not predictable enough in auto. I prefer the diffs as closed as possible.
Same on the Mitsi which I use in snow mode when it's raining and in gravel mode in the dry.

That will clearly rob the car from some of the liveliness, but if your driving style is a bit more 'forceful' and you actually drive fast, it will feel more composed.

I assume you generally have a full on driving style going fast everywhere rather than doodling along like most and only occasionally using the power for an acceleration ?

I know. I found the nose to light, I didn't know where it was gonna go.

That being said, once you're on ice, this 'closed' setting can be a handfull to handle. Once the car goes, it is much harder to correct than with open diffs.
Then again, it goes less quickly and if you handle it carefully enough, you can do the most amazing things with it :)
