How do I make my `burble` louder ??

Thinking of replacing my Prodrive exhaust system for a kit with a louder burble & would like to know if anyone`s got any suggestions of which system to go for??
Do I need to replace the whole system or just part of it ??
Do I need to replace it with a De-catted system & how will this affect performance/emmissions at MOT time etc ??

Any advice much appreciated!! :thumb:

The Blitz Nur Spec R increases the burble and so do some other systems. Granted a decat will give a massive burble sound but it will need remapping.

My advice would be to attend some meets and hear a few different systems.

Thanks for the info WR1 Bro !!

Not many meets up here in the north so struggle to meet up with other WR1 owners !

How much would a Blitz system cost me ??

Any ideas how much my Prodrive system would be worth if I sold it ?? It`s only 18 months old as had it all replaced last Feb!

Many thanks! Mark

I think the Hayward & Scott exhaust has a good reputation for burble. You can get a 3" decat or sports cat for this exhaust.

Your old Prodrive system should be worth about £300 - £350. I saw one go for around this on Scoobynet.

Totally agree with Bro if its a louder deeper burble your after you won't get better than a Blitz nur spec. The cat back system will give you what you want & no worries come mot time.
Had this on my my bugeye before i got my 1 & in my opinion there is no better sounding bbox out there, i still miss that noise but im sure my neighbours don'tl

You can get the Blitz Nur Spec R (back box and centre section) direct from Blitz for less than £500. I will have a used back box for sale within the next week as it is too loud with the current mods I have. It wasn't too loud prior to the mods in my opinion.

Be warned though, I believe the Blitz is said to be slightly more restrictive than the standard exhaust. However, I think the sound difference confuses you slightly and I can't say for sure if the car was any slower with the Blitz exhaust. What I can say is, it felt a little different compared to standard. I can't quantify this. Also I would like to add that my car gave 333/321 on the rollers with a Blitz exhaust. It was a nice crisp cold day so these figures don't suggest a problem. Having said that, these figures are pointless without back to back testing!

One thing you do loose with the Blitz is the lovely sounds you get bouncing back off walls and hedges which I did like from the standard exhaust.

In conclusion, for a standard car I would have the Blitz over the standard exhaust every time. Plus the pops and bangs are sweet but I think these could be more attributable to the after market dump valve than directly related to the zorst.

I`m sure the neighbours will be impressed with my new system !! :omg:

Cheap and easy louder burble, just change the front sports cat for a bell mouthed decat ( cheap on ebay ) and keep the Prodrive back box. Great sound without the drone on the motorway!!! Thats all I did. :D :D

Mr evo1234  you fitted a decat without a re-map, and if I remember you also have a ggr induction kit :?

Just to clear things up :cuckoo:
Had a ggr induction fitted and no decat, sounded great but ran to lean and the engine stalled sometimes after heavy braking so I had it removed.
Before you say it  should of had a remap.
Now I have a 33 motorsport decat and straight mid section with the standard Prodrive back box.Pipercross panel filter fitted and still no remap,as I said before has a great burble and no silly chav saxo sound.
:oops!: :oops!:

Thanks for the tip Evo! Any particular type of bell mouthed cat that I shud get as I`m not technical in the slightest ? !! Is it a straight swap ??

How much are they ?? Will a normal back street garage fit it for me ??

Don`t really want to get into any remapping etc if it`s not needed as trying to stay standard...apart from the loud burble !!! :norty:

Cheers!
Mark

There are lots on ebay for around £100-£125ish and will fit on to a standard mid section if you like , its a easy job for most garages.I must stress this is only my opinion and there is more technical Wr1 owners on here than me !! All I know is I drive mine hard most days,it sounds great and it's still going strong. :thumb: :thumb:
