You'll find a proliferation of different tyre brands and compounds being used by folks on the site, and probably even more differing opinions as tyre choice is soooooo subjective. The nero is the standard tyre the WR1 is sold with and is a good all-round tyre.

In terms of myself, I'm currently running Toyo T1R's and I hate them, but you have to try these things out for yourself, really. The best bet is to get to a WR1OC event and go out in other cars wearing different rubber. That way you might be able to make a decision that suits you without spending huge amounts of cash.

My personal choice? Well, it's the Pirelli P Zero Corsa for the DRY track. Otherwise, it's Pirelli P Zero Rosso for everything else.

I loved the Corsa's when i had the money to fit them.
But i must say and most of the guys will back me up the standered Nero's on my 1 work very well even on the track.
The WR1oc still rocks...
Even if i do drive a Smart car!...

I've just had two nero's fitted, I personally get on very well with them on the road, not been out on track with them....

yet

Its definately a matter of personal choice, everyone has different driving styles and preferences, with limited track use I went for the all round nero.

P zero Rossos for me, Pilot Sports also good, had them on other cars. Had F1 Eagles before Rossos. No comparison for roadholding, Rossos much better but seem to wearing quicker, no matter.

I put 235s on kine but had to take them off as they kept catching on the front. Check out with mike Wood first. He wanted to put 235s on but the lowered suspension caused catching under heavy cornering etc.

Interesting as some people run their WR1s on 235s. I considered it at one point for the rim protection and then decided against it.

Chris did still have them on when I saw his car for the first time at Brunters, certainly filled the arches better.

I emailed Mike Wood at the time, he advised against 235 on 18s.
