New Discs

Postby robwils » Sun Feb 18, 2007 7:19 pm

I fancy getting some new discs, after some cross drilled and / or grooved, if l'm honest its for the look rather than needing them.

Don't want to change calipers or anything.
any recommendations ? :?:
and where I can get some for decent price :?:

Just fitted turbo groove discs all round, plus red stuff matching pads. Fantastic, can't believe the difference. Got from Osaka

Try "godspeed engineering" aswell

I got drilled/grooed with redstuffs - did 2 trackdays and probably 9k miles the pads were only recently changed with no problems of "eating" the discs or lasting only a few k miles :D

might be worth trying a performance friction upgrade. a few of us have this on the evos, uses the brembo calipers and seems to work very well

I've got the TurboGroove discs all round with Red Stuff Ceramic pads and the difference is noticable. I also upgraded the brake fluid to AP Racing dot 5.1.

I'm considering trying Ferrodo DS2500's next time I fit new discs, as the RedStuff's seem to chew the disc up pretty bad, although they do stop you well. I go through two sets of pads to one disc.

Anyone else running DS2500's on TurboGroove discs?

Cheers

Anders

Is the boost controller to change from a norm to 1.7 then when on "spirited" driving? Should see over the 350bhp fig 8)

Most on here did'nt run that much boost or a controller - max boost being 1.6"tops" with the odd spike in lower gears to 1.65 from memory slowly tailing off to 1.4.
