got issues.

not great when cold but pretty good once theyre warmed up, then once it's been hammered a while they go pretty shit again, got fade again today a couple of times. i'm told the rear pads are 90% worn. would this affect hard braking? might be a stupid question but when you slam on brakes what's the ratio on front/rear brakes ?
i always got the feeling the back brakes were working reasonably hard because they gave off alot of brake dust (more than the front) i think they're different pads so this could be why, but dunno.

HELP ?

HELP ?

When your pads are worn, the heat transer through the pad/piston into the fluid is faster (because of the thinner pad). So you will always get fade quicker than with good pads. Fade is heat expanding the fluid a bit.

Change your pads and you should be back to normal.

Braking is always biased to the front (think about it when you are hard on the brakes all the wieght transfer is to the front, the rear wheels are hardly touching the ground so there is no friction for braking effect)

If you have more dust at the back, it could show a problem but if you have different pads then this could well be it.

Change your pads and come back with info :wink:

I believe the front to rear braking ratio split is often around 80%/20%

This is why a lot of people suggest only uprating the front calipers...

Probably why evo's feel more planted, with more bias braking to the rear !

Same on Colin Macrash ps2 when choosing the brake set up on gravel with more braking to the rear you go sooooooooomuch quicker :lol:

You surprise me... Spikes car felt like it had no brakes! Probably something to do with the 300lb of lard in the drivers seat and his heavy nose in the passenger seat.

PMSL, and the fact you're used to AP's. als possible spikes rear pads are as worn as mine, as his mileage is probably similar....

If the brakeing is rear wheel bias on the Evos why dont they upgrade the rear brake set up rather than the front :?:

not biased so there's more on the rear than front, but just slightly more to the back than on the scoob (i think

Weird. I haven't got any of these problems and I have the same brakes and I would have guessed I use them pretty hard.

Did you already replace the front ones ? I didn't replace mine yet and I think I might need to get some of Donald before they need to be replaced.

nope fronts are fine, will ask them again to check tomorrow cant remember whether they said 40 or 60% worn. rears being changed tomorrow. remember i probably have higher mileage...
