Hi, bought my wr1 yesterday but upon close inspection i noticed the alloys are ever so slightly bubbling under the lacquer - any1 else noticed anything similar....? May have to get them refurbed as previous owner has slightly kerbed front 2 anyway.... Rash.

Mine too, and that's really my own fault - I had an Audi 4.2 before this and couldn't get used to the size difference that quickly, so ended up kerbing a couple of wheels (very careless, really). Since then I've noticed the paint lifting where I've kerbed them - perhaps an air exposure issue? I have a quote to get them done -

not so much the alloys, but the inserts are starting to look shabby.

The dealer should put in a warranty claim. If this is rejected then call IM in person and they WILL change their mind.

Might have to take a trip up myself and see what they say - as one of alloys is in mint condition but has bubbled up on the spoke.....
Any1 claimed a set of wheels through warrenty before...? If so any problems with getting a replacement set through warrenty...?
Rash.

Hi Rash, I have just had mine in for the 10k service at KT Greens, Otley & got them to inspect the n/s rear wheel as I spotted bubbling too! They took some pics & sent them to Subaru...2 days later they rang & told me they would supply a brand new wheel under warranty, which has now been sorted! A mate has a WRX SL & all 4 wheels are bubbling! Same dealer has just replaced the lot FREE so he`s made up ! I`d take yr car to KT Greens ASAP...I`m sure u won`t have any problems!

Cheers mate, planning on giving them a call tomorrow and see what they say - also today noticed a slight knock/clunk from the front as i set off or brake so i'll get them to look at that also... Rash.

well went down to KT Green's - got the clunking noise sorted straight away however the wheels were a no-no due to the fact that the rims were kerbed and probably contributed to the bubbling. so looks like i'll be looking to repair them through a re-furb company - think they charge around 45pounds an alloy...!
