Nightmare... sounds expensive

Postby Smitwhit » Mon Nov 10, 2014 5:20 pm

Hi all.

On Saturday night i went to over take somebody and as soon i put the power down something has obviously snapped
Unfortunately i was on swarkstone bridge in Derby and if anyone knows it, you know you CAN NOT stop on it! :-|

The whole car vibrates i honestly thought a wheel was about to come off, when turning it got worse. what seemed like a life time i eventually got off the bridge and checked all the wheels which were tight.
I then started the engine and heard a loud knocking noise from around the prop/under the car around the centreconsole!

I got towed back to my dads house as it defiantly wasn't safe to drive and left it there as i have had no time to look at it yet.

Anyone have any possibilities what it may be... i.e snapped driveshaft/prop (had a quick look on my hands & knees but couldnt see anything hanging)

Thanks in advance

Mark.

Could be the prop centre bearing?.. You need to get it on a ramp.
