time for brake pads?

Postby weirdfish » Tue Oct 14, 2014 2:58 pm

Car is in having a new exedy clutch fitted, I also asked my local guy to look at the brakes, ( felt very wooden to me ), he's come back to say that the rears are very low, but the fronts are fine, ( although they are EBC red stuff ).
My understanding of Subaru brakes is that they are not as "servo assisted" as a lot of cars and therefore you have to use them a bit heavier, ( if that makes sense ), but also, would the "red stuff" pads magnify this to some degree.
If this is correct can you suggest a decent road pad that will work when I want it to.

I've just fitted Hp Sport pads, not yet run in but seem to work fine.

My previous pads were Ferodo DS2500 which again worked well but gave some shimmy after a couple of enthusiastic applications.

Both pads give good firm pedal feel.

Speak to Alyn AS performance he will point you in the right direction
