Postby ian1965 » Fri Dec 13, 2013 4:11 pm

My subaru has come up with an error on my local garages diagnostic equipment, brake boost pressure sensor error. They can reset it but every time you touch the brakes it comes back on again, has anyone any idears please. Cheers Ian

Wiring short to positive

Brake boost pressure sensor

Or ECM

With a bit of searching around I have found some other information saying this is a Subaru reserved code and "P0558 = Alternator Circuit Low" this may have something to do with the replacement alternator being supplied. Both alternator's apparently have 3 pin plugs the one marked C- S (has a dummy pin) and the one marked C - S - L is the correct item. Current output levels may be different, will investigate further.

So has the error code come up since you had the new alternator fitted?
