rear backplates & handbrake shoes

Postby delrodney » Fri Sep 13, 2013 9:28 am

morning all

the dreaded rust has built up a bit too much on the rear backplates (covering the rear discs).....resulting in a nasty noise when the disc catches the rusty area on the backplate, particularly when the wheel is under load.

handbrake shoes.....been advised to change them at same time, as just had new discs and pads on all corners too.

anyone else suffered this issue with the backplate? can replace; but pricey at circa £450 (inc the shoes).

welcome comments or advice. thanks

I had the same problem, save yourself some cash and follow this thread. A good clean and grinder does the trick. :D
