Brake Pads

Postby simon.r » Fri Jan 11, 2013 5:33 pm

Evening Gents,

After some advice really - Currently my 1 doesnt stop as well as I think it should - Dont get me wrong it stops but I feel there should be some more bite. I see a lot of 1 owners have replaced the brembos with the APs - However Im not one to out and buy something if it aint broke - but then again Im not mechanic and to be fair wouldnt have a scooby where to start. However, Im guessing some new brake pads would sort the trick out. It might not be that at all might be that not 100% connection is being made, therefore not getting the full potential.

Now, Im not going to go out and purchase some APs because those are the highly recommended brakes to upgrade to yet Im going to give the Brembos a chance therefore I am after some advice on which pads to go for if required to be changed.

Any advice?

Cheers
Simbo.

I have Ferrodo ds2500 pads fitted front and rear with standard Brembo discs. Pedal is firm with good bite.

If you decide to buy Brembo's again, as I did, the cheapest in UK are (or was a few months ago) a company based here in Kidderminster called NEXT DAY BRAKES.
It's the online trading name of a general Automotive spares organisation.

The Brembo part is P54039 and are available from the above for £47, free post. :D

he does indeed - Spoke to him regarding the front 'driving light' and he got me a replacement within the day - I should drive up to him one day - but then again I should take the wallet with me if I do :D
