WR 1 Rear dampers, part numbers?

Postby marky-b » Tue Aug 21, 2012 6:33 pm

Hi all,
I would like to put the standard rear dampers back on my car (pink ones), to keep it as original as possible. Can anyone tell me if they are just sti dampers with prodrive springs on them?. I will keep a look out for someone changing their dampers for after market ones. I have had a couple of sets to bits already, so don't mind if they have "failed".
Any info, or anyone have an old pair they might want to sell, let me know.

cheers,

Mark

I understand what you are saying about the coilovers but to be honest, I want to keep as original as possible. I will keep a lookout for a pair of sti ones.

I am all for keeping the car as standard but the standard WR1 shocks are frankly rubbish in terms of how long they can last for. I would think a car fitted with coilovers would be more attractive to a buyer than the standard inferior part. I haven't fitted coilovers yet but from I gather from those that have you can set them so they feel no different from the original set up.

We will have a chat on Tuesday Mark, Carl has the originals fitted and I have the BC coilovers, see what you think.
