BRAKE BADS ETC

Postby WOODY » Mon Jul 18, 2005 7:36 am

Greetings all

Can anyone tell me which brake pads are the best buy ? we had new pads and discs on the last service (10k) and the pads are now shot (@ 14500miles !) , we have also noticed that the brakes fade a lot, do we need to change the brake fluid ?

cheers  :?:

If you're driving hard enough to see off standard pads in that sort of mileage then you'll be lucky to get 2000 miles out of red stuff.

Value for money they may be just, 1/4 the price for 1/4 the mileage. But we're talking brakes here, is value for money the most important thing?

If you want the best pads money can buy then you want pagid. For roadgoing and the odd trackday you want RS4-2-1 compound. Not the cheapest, will be

Just looked at the above site and I don't think they are genuine brembo pads just copies made to fit the brembo calipers.

woza got the pagid ones which are too fat to fit the anti shim/screech pads on and the screech like an old woman, think he was going back to the garage to get them to re do!!
any news wozza?
the ebc redstuff worked well on sunday,no fade etc but they did sound like they were eating the discs a few times when prolonged braking from high speed so i kinda pumped em to give them a breather as i slowed!! no damage to the discs though

Breaks still screeeching like a gooden, takin the car back monday to get em sorted probably didnt give them time to bed in before we went to bruntingthorp and hammered them. Or the mechy didnt file the edges off the pads to 45 degrees to stop screeching when he fitted pads, hopefully they will be ok after monday then i gota get the trackin etc done.
The cost of full set front and back + delivery
